"Cancer!", Liv shouted incredulously. Tears ran down her cheeks.
"That can't be true! Your lying! She would have told me...oh no." She felt the truth catch her.
"So that was, what she wanted to tell me. Will she die?"
"Yes. In a few years maybe, but maybe in some days or months. We don't know. The doctors don't know. We have to use the time we have left with her. One day she might be gone."
That was the moment she got no air and collapsed. And she woke up in hospital.
"Olivia. Olivia." Quiet voices in the dark. "Mr Anderson, please calm down." "But it's my daughter!"
And I remember now. I opened my eyes, frightened. My mom was crying with relief, but something inside me had changed. My heart was broken. I did not eat anymore, did not sleep anymore, did not talk anymore. Had lost the joy of everything. It felt like I was in a bubble and can't hear the people around me. Lost the joy on being alive. Neglected the school, even Lia, my beloved Lia!
