"Look mommy, a mermaid!" The little girl cried, trying to get closer to the edge of the bridge to see better.
The mermaid was waving frantically and the little girl sent a big smile her way and waved back happily.
"That's nice honey," the mother spoke in a dismissive tone and dragged her daughter away from the edge.
The next day the little girl squealed and pointed towards the newspaper stand.
"Mommy, mommy, it's the mermaid I saw yesterday!"
Her mother was just about to reply when she turned her head and saw the article her daughter was pointing at.
"Drowned woman found washed up at beach"
