Dan lay there in his bed, he looked over to see the empty space that was left in his queen sized bed. He reached over, trying to grasp what was left of Phil. He didn't want to look through Phil's stuff, or reminisce on all the memories they had. All Dan wanted to do was lie there forever, for eternity. Dan didn't want to think about what happened to Phil, but it was inevitable, all of Dan's thoughts veered towards Phil. Looking up at the ceiling, Dan contemplated what he could've done, but he knew it was no use, there was no way to have made this a happy ending. Phil was sick for awhile, the doctors said he had leukemia, a type of cancer. Dan didn't know what to do, he tried to help the best he could, but nothing did. It was just a couple weeks ago that Phil died, and it was taking a toll on everyone. All members of the phandom made tributes and tried to console Dan. Dan couldn't take it, he hid away, in his mind all of this was he fault. Dan blamed himself, for not being able to pay for everything, for not visiting everyday, even for not keeping Phil's viewers up to date on what was happening. Since Phil died, Dan kept everything that Phil ever had, hoarding it, keeping it to himself. Trying to hold on to his sanity, Dan reached for Phil anywhere he could, he kept reaching, and reaching, and reaching. Until there was nowhere left to reach.
It was a Tuesday morning, it would've been a regular day, if Dan got out of bed and went on YouNow, like he usually did. But today, today was different. Dan got out of bed, reached into the cupboard, reached for the last box of cereal that was in the very back. He took it out and was about to pour it into a bowl when he noticed something. It was a sticky note, the sticky note was stuck to the cereal box. It was faded, as if it had been there for awhile. The note read: 'Dear Dan, If you are reading this I assume that I have died and that you have finally gotten through the last box of the stash. I have left a locked blue box in the back of the closet. I hope you enjoy what I have in store for you. Thank you for being my lifelong friend, Phil'. Dan didn't know what to do, he put down the cereal box, ran to their room and flung open the door. All of Phil's stuff was still there, he pushed everything out of the closet and there, sitting right in front of him was a little blue box, it had another sticky note on it and was locked with a little purple lock. The note read, "Dear Dan, first you need to find the key to start this adventure. You might be wondering why am I sending you on this adventure in the first place. You'll see once you get this box open. Have fun, Phil". Dan looked up and out the window. He knew that Phil has done something interesting and he couldn't wait to see what.
