Prologue

The Thunderpaths of the Two-leg place were for once quiet. No monsters, roared down the Thunderpaths, there were no Two-legs in sight. Even the nests of the two-legged creatures were dark inside. Only, the sound of a small tortoiseshell she-cat’s paws disturbed the tranquility of the night. Her amber eyes glanced around in fear, as she continued walking, down the sidewalk. I’m nearly there… She thought as she noticed the large trees of the forest up ahead. Just, as the she-cat placed one paw on the soft grass, she heard a low growl. Her eyes widened in fear as she turned her head around, behind her was a blue gray tabby she-cat. The she-cat’s blue eyes held a look of disgust, at the tortoiseshell.

"You didn’t think I would just let my only sister, become a traitor?” The blue gray tabby snarled, angrily. The tortoiseshell gulped, and glanced towards the forest, and then looked back at the she-cat.

“I-I c-can’t live this way anymore Sea.” The tortoiseshell whimpered. “Just, let me leave…”

“I won’t let you betray us, Leaf!” Sea, then pounced on her younger sister, she raked her claws down Leaf’s face, who yowled in pain. The once quiet night, had now been destroyed by the yowls of pain, and the growls of anger, from the two she-cats. Leaf, nearly stumbled as she tried to get away from her older sister.

“You just, don’t want the others to see you as a traitor, just because I’m leaving!” Leaf mewed, as she dodged her sister’s claws. Sea will kill me, that tyrant he’s changed everyone here… Leaf thought, sadly. But this isn’t my sister; anymore this is a cat that’s trying to kill me! The tortoiseshell thought, as she raked her claws down her sister’s muzzle. Surprise, flickered in the tabby’s blue eyes, but it quickly faded, as Sea quickly pinned Leaf down. Leaf, let out another yowl of pain, as her older sister raked her claws down the tortoiseshell’s face. The younger she-cat couldn’t see anything in her left eye as blood seeped into it.

“I’ll kill you, before you betray us, Leaf.” Leaf, shivered as she heard her sister’s voice in her ear, only a few cats would go to these extremes to keep someone from joining the Rebels, sadly her sister was one of these cats. Suddenly, Sea was tackled by a gray blur.

“Get up, come on, you won’t live if you just stand there!” Leaf blinked with the eye she could see with, and she saw dark green eyes staring into hers.

“Come on!” The she-cat growled. “Ash will take care of that Loyal.” Before, anyone could say another word the pounding of paw-steps echoed through Two-leg Place. In fright, Leaf began, to follow the silver she-cat with black paws, ears, and a black tail-tip, but as she glanced back she saw her sister’s limp body on the cold ground, with the speckled gray tom, above her. In the distance, more cats were coming. As, she ran through the forest with the silver she-cat, her ears flattened as the yowl of agony from Ash reached her ears. A Rebel and a Loyal died tonight, all because of her…
