Ok, so I'm not really satisfied with the way this chapter turned out, but fixing it would require major editing and moving around of entire paragraphs, so I'm just gonna leave it for now. Even if it's not perfect, I hope you like it:)

Leo POV

I woke up to the sound of Jason banging on my door and calling Nico's name. Why is he calling for Nico? And then I open my eyes and realize where I am. I'm in Nico's room, and he's laying curled up against my side. He looks so fragile and innocent with his delicate features and pale skin. I almost don't want to wake him up. Almost.

"Nico. Hey, Ghost king. Time to get up, like, right now." I whisper while shaking him.

"No, I wanna sleeeeep...." He mumbles quietly. I laugh as he buries his head under the blankets.

"Fine. You leave me no choice." I push him off the bed. He lands on the floor with a thump and an indignant "Hey!" And then Jason starts calling him again.

"Nico? Are you okay? If you don't come to the door right now I'm coming in!"

"Oh no you're not," he mutters. "One second Jason!" He calls. He shoves me under the bed and runs to the door, opening it quickly and leaving before Jason can look in. Great. Now I have to get out of here without anyone seeing me. I crawl out from under the bed and peek out the door. I can see Piper facing away from me, standing in front of my room calling me. I'll just pretend that I was in the bathroom or something. I open the door all the way and peer around the corner, feeling like a ninja. Then I run down the hallway quickly, dashing into the bathroom and immediately whipping around and strolling out casually, pretending I've been in there the whole time.

"Hey Beauty Queen. How was your night?" I ask, trying not to pant.

"Oh, hi Leo, I didn't realized you were in there. It was fine. Come on, we just gotta wake up Frank and then we can go down to breakfast." It takes like 10minutes to get Frank up, and we actually have to go into his room and dump water on him before he even realizes that we were calling him. That kid sleeps like a rock. Anyways, after breakfast Annabeth retreated to her room to read a book or something, Piper and Jason went off to be all coupley, and Percy, Hazel, and Frank decided to hang out together. So I asked Nico if he wanted to join me in the Engine room, which is where I've spent most of my time this past week. He said yes. So here we are, awkwardly sitting next to each other looking at Archimedes notes. I am fiddling with some spare parts and mumbling to myself, while he remains absolutely silent and still.

Nico POV

This is excruciatingly awkward. Normally I'm fine with silence, but with Leo, it feels wrong. Even now he's filling the silence by talking to himself, but it doesn't change the fact that we apparently have nothing to talk about. I guess I'm going to have to try to start a conversation. Internal sigh.

"So Leo," I start awkwardly, "I just realized that you know an awful lot about me, whereas I know next to nothing about you. So start talking." I command, hoping he'll fill the silence with chatter. No such luck.

"There's not that much to talk about."

"Seriously? You're a demigod. Our pasts are always riddled with mystery and tragedy and crap. It's practically a requirement of being demigod for us to be as messed up as possible. You gotta have something to talk about. C'mon, in trying to fill the awkward silence here, and you're not helping." He glances up at me in surprise, and then laughs, first quietly, and then continuing until it turns into full on hysterics. I stare at him in shock.

"What just happened?" I ask stupidly.

"You... It just...." He broke off into another fit of laughter. "It's just so true. I don't think I've ever heard anyone describe it quite like that, but it's so true." He snorts loudly, and then breaks off into silent giggles, which makes it look like he's hyperventilating.
