The royal secret

August 1537, Ollala is having a great party. Rose Maria is the daughter of king Carlos Yanzo, and princess of Ollala, which is a tiny state close to Madrid. Today it is her sixteenth birthday, and the tradition is, that she has to get married that week. Only when she is married she can receive the crown and rule Ollala.

And that's why that evening, in the palace of Ollala, there was a huge ball. All men in Ollala were invited, and princes from all over the world came to Spain to conquer the heart of princess Rose.

Princess Rose was wearing a large green ball gown with a golden tiara and diamond slippers. Hundreds of young men were waiting for princess Rose to arrive, when they saw a poor man walking in the palace. People started whispering: "The guards must have orders to do nothing.", and: "Is that a prince?", and: "Look at him and his clothes, he'll never be prince."

On that moment the king started to talk: "Dear people, princes and kings. I welcome you to the birthday party of our beloved princess Rose Maria of Ollala, and the ball where she will be engaged this evening. At the end of the week they will marry and she will be crowned as the queen of Ollala, and prime minister of Spain."

The crowd clapped for the short speech of the king, but suddenly they stopped with every sound they were making.
The princess arrived in her beautiful ballgown.

When the music started, she first danced with Jan, a dutch boy with rich parents. He could not dance well and stepped on Rose's royal toes very much times. After that she danced with Andrew, a young baron from Scotland. He was a very strange guy; he was a professor that had a laboratory under the ground.

Now comes the lovely part. The princess had to dance with the strange poor man, and don't ask me how, but she fell in love with him. But there was one problem: her father wouldn't accept it if she said she loved this man.
So she made up a plan. She would dress him like a prince and tell her father he was the prince from Norway.

And that was what she did, but first she asked him many questions to know him better. His name was Tomas, he was seventeen years old and he lives in one of the poor streets of Palba, that is the capital of Ollala.

Next day, she showed her father the 'prince of Norway'. Tomas walked in the room where the king was, the king smiled and said: "Welcome, welcome. Prince Tomas Riatti of Italy, what a great honor to see you here."
King Carlos said to his daughter that the poor man at the ball one of the richest men on earth was, but because he wants to find his true love, he dresses like a poor man on balls.

Ten years later, Rose and Tomas were married and they had two children: a boy and a girl. Roxanna and Benjamin.
And they lived happily ever after.
