Chapter 1
How It Started Out
I reached my hand into thick bloody water, “What the hell is going on with the water? If all the water is like this I’m screwed!” I growl as I pull my hand out and wipe it clean, whilst looking at the murky grey sky.
It has been about one weeks since the apocalypse started and I can’t seem to find signs of life anywhere, other than the brainless demons looking for a snack. It’s just me, alone, I have no one. I don’t know if anyone is left.
My name is Jessy Blemhem, I am 18 and I live in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia (well lived). I have no idea how the outbreak started but all I know is that it is spreading fast.
I watched my mother eat my father alive. Still in shock of the site of my mother ripping the flesh off of my father I just stood there and watched, I didn’t snap out of it until my mum turned her attention to me and began running at me, that’s when I grabbed whatever I could, which happened to be a knife, to defend myself and I then stabbed my mother directly in the heart and she dropped to the floor wincing in pain, then shortly after died. After that I found all the weapons that my dad had collected over the years and grabbed ever piece of food in the house, clothes, my phone with earphones and solar charger, also all the clean water, then shoved it all in the car and drove away. While driving past my town I watched the kayos of the infection unravel, basically everyone was either dead, a zombie, or currently being eaten. I just drove, I had no idea where I was driving but I knew one thing; I have to find survivors.
I drove until the car ran out of gas then grab all I had and started walking. I ran into a few zombies but luckily I was armed and dad had had me in all sorts of combat classes ever since I was little, also teaching me how to shoot with guns, bows etc so I was well prepared. Anyway, I came to a rundown gas station and approached it, the door flung open as a wild zombie can rushing at me, quickly grabbing my 22 magnum mini revolver I shoot the zombie directly in the head. After, it being completely dead I continue my way into the small shop. As I enter, gun still in hand, I scan the area for any signs of moment, there seems to be none. I lower my gun and begin to rummage through the store looking for whatever I could find that may help me (this being 2 days since I left my home). I manage to find a few candy bars, water, litters, chips and clothes. Once I had gathered all that I put all my belongings in my bag. I left the store and continued my journey to fuck knows where.
Whilst walking I had a lot of time to myself, thinking about all the horrific stuff I have seen. I have being holding back the memory of my parents but I couldn’t fight the urge any longer and everything that happened began to overwhelm me, my parents dead, all my friends gone everything hit me so hard. I fell to the floor and began to sob, I wanted to scream and tear my hair out and just arghh! It was all too much. I managed to pick myself, still crying, and carry on. While walking I kept to the barren road, the hot sun beating down on me. When night fall came I found a nearby tree and climbed up it, finding a secure place in the tree to sleep.
Every now and then I would wake up to a night terror, sweating and breathing heavy but then calming myself down just enough so I can try and go back to sleep.
Waking up, just before sunset I eat some fruit that I have and drink some water once replenished I begin to carry on. This morning the sky looks grey, kinda like its sick. I walk for what seem likes miles and then suddenly I feel a drop of water on my face and I look up to see that it is being to rain, I have always loved the rain it makes me feel happy and at peace. Still walking I come to the blood dyed stream I was telling you about earlier.
Okay so now you are caught up on where I’m at, I’ll continue my story.
