Harry

"Are you ready to go, Harry?" Dumbledore asked me.

I gripped my wand tightly, and nodded. Professor held out his arm, and steeling my nerves, I grabbed it. We vanished in an instant from our place in the forest. When we reappeared, we were standing on the edge of a great black lake. It was so vast that I couldn't make out the distant banks

We stood in a cavern so high that the ceiling, too, was out of sight. A misty greenish light shone far away in what looked like the middle of the lake. It was reflected in the completely still water below. The greenish glow and the light from the our wands were the only things that broke the otherwise velvety blackness, though their rays did not penetrate as far as I would have expected. The darkness was somehow denser than normal darkness.

"Are we doing this, or no?" Someone else's voice asked.

When I turned, I found Percy leaning against a cave wall, carelessly. Like how he usually was, he wore no robes. Once I saw what I was in his hands though, I nearly started in shock. Percy was twirling his wand around his fingers, tapping his foot restlessly. I saw no cat, nor owl, so I assumed he left them at Hogwarts.

"Wait, why are you here?" I asked him curiously.

How did he even get here? He'd have to apparate, and know where to end up. Percy wasn't there in any of my sessions with Professor Dumbledore. Why was he even involved? Voldemort was supposed to be defeated by me, foretold by a prophecy. What did Percy have to do with it?

Percy shrugged, pulling out a knife,"Quests are my thing. Also there's a lot of water, wouldn't want either of you to drown."

I eyed his blade warily,"I can swim."

Percy scoffed, drawing a line down his palm,"I don't doubt that."

I watched as he smeared his blood on the wall. Surprisingly, the wall fell away and a doorway opened. Percy ducked through, Professor Dumbledore following him. I bit my lip, deciding to continue forward.

"Then why are you here?"

Percy gave me a halfhearted smirk,"Let's just say that air doesn't come cheap."

Percy approached the water behind him. I turned my head to follow him. I saw black water laying still. In the center of the lake was a mound of land, on top it was a basin. I couldn't quite see the details because of the distance, but that wasn't my main concern now.

Dumbledore had just summoned a boat out of no where. Percy had grabbed the chain from the professors hand, and pulled it to shore. I quickly hurried to help him, boarding it after it was secure. Percy somehow pushed off without using an oar. I saw the greenish glow toward which the boat was still inexorably sailing. I couldn't pretend now that I was not scared. The great black lake seemingly teeming with the dead...

"Don't touch the water, Harry." Dumbledore warned.

I frowned,"Why not?"

"There's something at the bottom." Percy murmured, peering over the side of the boat.

Percy yelped when the ship slammed into the sand. I yelled when he started falling into the water. Faster than a snake, Dumbledore's hand shot out, and grabbed the back of his shirt. Percy fell back into the boat, a surprised expression on his face.
