Chapter 10~
School on Monday was pretty typical. Luckily no rumors were going around about the party, which was surprising. Everyone was probably too drunk out of their mind to realize I was getting violated in ways I refuse to remember.
The whole week was pretty typical actually. No large amounts of homework, no huge projects- thankfully, just a typical week.
Jessica has no idea what happened this weekend, and I plan to keep it that way. I know I told her I would keep her filled in, but I feel like what happened this weekend was something I didn't need to tell her about.
Luke and I have texted all week, but we haven't been able to hang out. He's had a group project he had to work on with some people, but he said we'd hang out on Saturday or Sunday depending on when he gets done with it.
I guess you could say we're together. He hasn't 'officially' asked me to be his girlfriend, but I think after Sunday we both just assumed we were together.
Now it's Friday, and I'm walking out of the school with Jared. He usually drives me home now. We've gotten really close really fast, and he's probably one of my closest friends now. He knows about everything that's happened between me and the Obenham boys. Really the only thing he doesn't know about is Lana. Nobody knows about Lana.
I shake the thought out of my head as I get into Jared's car.
"Wanna hang out today?" He asks. A smile haunts my lips as I take in the beautiful weather today, or maybe I'm just thinking about Luke again. Oh well.
"Sure." I reply as he pulls out of the parking lot. The windows are rolled down and a warm breeze flows through the car. It's September now, and the hot summer doesn't seem to be going away anytime soon.
Music flows through the speakers, as we drive down the highway to my house. Once we get there I drop off my bag and then we drive to Jared's house. I've seen it once before when we were going to hang out in the beginning of the week, but I've never been inside or met his family. He lives in the same neighborhood as me, just on the older side. Soon he comes back out and gets back in the car. I trace my fingers over my shorts as we drive back onto the highway.
"Where are we heading?" I ask after a while. The windows are still down and wind blows through my hair.
"I don't know. We could go roller skating." He shrugs.
"I don't know how to roller skate." I say pointedly.
"We could go to the mall." He suggests next.
"You want to go to the mall?" I say with mock shock.
"I like the food court and the sports shop." He smiles. I shake my head.
"You know, I don't like malls too much, but I'll go for you." I tease.
He chuckles and gets in the left lane, taking us closer to Dallas. I raise an eyebrow at him as I ask, "Isn't it closer to go to the Allen outlets?"
He shrugs his shoulders, "I like the pretzels at this one." He grins. We both laugh.
The rest of the car ride is filled with music and the occasional conversation. Since we hit traffic on the way there it took fifteen minutes longer than usual, making the trip one whole hour. Parking on the fourth floor of the parking garage, we take the elevator to the bottom and then walk towards the entrance.
People buzz around the shops, creating the typical mall scene.
"Let's go get a pretzel Abby, come onnnn." He whines like a little kid. I roll my eyes at him, but find myself smiling.

RomanceThat's another reason I fell in love with Luke Obenham. Every moment I had with him, was treated as if it were our last, therefore each moment was the best moment.
