I lay in bed, staring at the ceiling. It's not like I had anything better to do.

I lazily rolled over and reached an arm under the rusty, noisy bed. My fingertips brushed against small, cool metal. I wrapped my hands around it and drew my arm out from under the thin, white sheets draping over the side of the hard and uncomfortable mattress.

I examined the point of the only kind of weapon I had near me. Blood was dried to the end I stabbed my eye out with. I subconsciously reached up and touched my leather eyepatch.

I held up my weapon to the light that seeped through the barred window above me. The metal shined in the small ray of sunlight coming through the window and projected a light to the other side of the room.

I raised my hand to the wall next to me and slowly dragged the hard metal down the wall, creating a jagged line on the wall. Tallies. I'd been here doing tallies for five years. I had nearly filled up an entire wall with the small marks.

"STOP DRAGGING THAT DUMB NAIL ACROSS THE WALL, BARNEY, OR I'LL COME OVER THERE A BEAT YOUR ASS!!" I let my hand and the nail drop onto my lap.

I didn't reply to Max's compliant, as usual, and just stared at the wall. I had to make a cross. For five. I reached back up and dragged the nail across four of the tallies. This action created another dreadful screech. The sound of a nail being dragged across concrete, like nails on a chalkboard.

I could hear Max shouting from down the hall, but I had long since learned to tune him out. Only when Max stopped shouting did I break out of my trance. It was quiet. Too quiet.

Slam!

The sound of the door being slammed emitted a screech from Jess.
"I'm not crazy! No! Let me go! I-I-I w-wanna go back . . . Ew! Gross! Be gentle please . . . I'LL KILL YOU WHEN I GET OUT! Hey, where are we? . . . Shut up all of you, will ya!" It sounded like there were six people talking, but I only heard two pairs of footsteps?

They were fast and rushed, they were also getting closer. They stopped at my door and it slowly opened with a loud groan. I remained silent. A boy with a red dino onesie and red hair was thrown in harshly by a guard.

I noticed he had freckles dotted all over his pale face. The odd thing is that his eyes were changing color rapidly. He didn't seem to notice me but that wasn't surprising considering I had stayed quiet the whole time. His eyes finally settled on orange and he got up and started to frantically pace around.

He let out a frustrated groan and started kicking the wall muttering angry curse words under his breath. His eyes suddenly turned blue and he turned around leaning on the wall before sinking down to the ground, clutching his head with his hands and silently weeping. Nobody said a thing but I think they got the idea; multiple personality disorder.

I cleared my throat to get their attention. Their head whipped around and their eyes turned red before being completely engulfed in pink.

"Hey there hot stuff~!" he purred seductively and I cringed.

His eyes turned green and a disgusted look crossed his face, "Ew! Seriously Pink? Try not to flirt with every guy you see and focus on holding Purple back!"

His eyes turn yellow with a hint of purple before it promptly disappeared, "Hi There, Im Yellow! Hm? Oh! That's Red, I'll See You Later Buddy!"

His eyes turned a copperish color and by now he was panting like a dog. Seeing how quiet I was, he began to freak out. Why would he freak out over just that when he was just dumped in here?

"I didn't scare you did I?" Red apologized frantically. I forced a smile on my face.

"Not even The Devil could scare me at this point." Red paled and his eyes turned purple.

A burly and fairly old man, I'd say in his forties walked down the barren hallway unlocking the doors as he went. It was time for lunch. He dragged us out of our rooms and herded us down to the cafeteria.

Red hung out in the back of the crowd, probably hoping he wouldn't get noticed. He was blushing a close to scarlet shade, he seemed pretty embarrassed about what happened and I'm pretty sure almost everyone in wing 13 heard. He sighed and let his eyes change to yellow.

Everyone except for Adam and I ignored Red, he looked interested in Red. He seemed curious. Adam slowed down and bit so that he was side by side with Red. As soon as he tried to talk to Red, he changed to Yellow and skipped up to the front of the crowd, talking to himself. Adam sighed and I snickered a bit to myself.

I walked a bit further into the crowd. I looked to the ground, not really paying attention to anything

"Hey! Don't look so down! Also what's your name? I never got it." His happiness in such a place was a bit sickening, but at the same time . . . Somewhat soothing?

"It's John, but please call me Barney." I responded.

"Oh ok! So~ . . . what are you here for?" He asked.

"I'm here for insomnia." He smiled gently at me.

"Oh! Can I sit with you at lunch? 'Cause I don't have anyone to sit with and I wanna meet all your friends!" I looked down at him, noticing he was about two inches shorter than me

"Sure, but first i want you to answer a question." I said.

"Shoot!" He exclaimed.

"How often do you change? Is it because of how your feeling, or choice, or random?" I asked.

He looked down at his feet and thought about it for a second. "Well it's kinda all of them, if Red is feeling a really strong emotion we tend to come out. But, in this case, Red is embarrassed so he let me take over. And then other times we just come out randomly, like Pink did earlier! Does that answer your question?" He tilted his head to the side with a cute smile.

"Hm..yeah that'll do it." I said.

I actually wanted to ask him a whole bunch of questions like; can the other speak to you in your head, or since your eye color changes can other stuff change too?

But mainly just one;

Who the hell is Purple?
