There once was a young girl named Diane. She was supposed to start at her new school 20 years ago from today. But when she was on her way to her new house her and her family were in a car accident. Her mom, dad, and baby brother all survived but she had internal bleeding. A few hours later she died. Her dad was driving so he blames himself for what happened.
The funeral was about a week later. After that day her soul was never put to sleep. she went to school everyday learning and watching all the other kids. Twenty years later she met a quiet young boy who everyone thought was strange. His name was Kalup. Kalup usually keeps to himself and only talks to his teacher Ms. Rayman. Kalup was scared when he first saw her but now he has someone to talk to. Kalup is the only one who can see and hear Diane. Since he talks to Diane every day his parents think she is just an imaginary friend. Wondering why he talks to himself during recess every day Ms. Rayman asked to talk to him.
Kalup what's wrong? Are the other kids picking on you?” said Ms. Rayman. “No, I am fine I just don’t fit in with anyone. Plus they all think I’m weird.” said Kalup. “Kalup you’re not weird you’re unique.” said Ms. Rayman. With tears in his eyes he said “To kids it’s all the same thing. Can I go now?” “Yes, go ahead. You know I’m here for you if you need me. Right?” said Ms. Rayman. Without saying another word he left. When he got home he went in his room and told Diane all about what Ms. Rayman said.
Diane said,”Just tell her you do have a friend duh.”. Yeah you’re right I’ll tell her all about you and how you’re a ghost you know all that stuff that will get me sent to the mental institute. I’m sorry Diane I had a long day and I’m tired . I’ll talk to you tomorrow goodnight.” said Kalup. “Oh, okay goodnight then.” said Diane.
That night Kalup had a nightmare he saw how Diane died. He woke up crying so hard his mom ran in his room.It took her over a half a hour to put him back to bed. Or at least she thought she put him to sleep. But he merely closed his eyes he couldn’t sleep. So he just lied in bed and stared at the ceiling.
The next day while he was walking to school and he told Diane all about his dream. She was intrigued by this but then the first bell rang. “I got to go. We can talk more later. Bye.” said Kalup. “Oh, okay remember what I said.” Diane said. “Good morning Ms. Rayman.” said Kalup. “You’re in a good mood.”said Ms. Rayman. “Yes I am. I made a friend on the way to school this morning her name is Diane Reed and and….” said Kalup. “Diana? What else did you want to say?” said, Ms. Rayman. . “First of all no it’s Diane and second of all nothing never mind.” said Kalup. Just then the bell rang; “Take your seats class today we’ll be learning about adding and subtracting fractions.” said Ms. Rayman. Kalup was so distracted Ms. Rayman’s voice just seemed to fade away.
“Lunch time!” said Ms. Rayman. “So Kalup where is Diane?” said Ms. Rayman. “She is with her other friends me and her decided to walk home and to school every day. She is a good friend she never ignores me and we talk all the time.”said Kalup. “Oh thats good when can I meet her” said, Ms. Rayman. “Ummmmm…I don’t know ask her not me.” said, Kalup.“Why don’t you go and get her so I can talk to her.” said Ms. Rayman. “Ok, I’ll just go and get her bye.” Kalup said while trying to come up with a plan. He ran to the center of the blacktop where him and Diane meet and she was there waiting for him. “What happened? I thought bullies got you. I was about to make them wet their pants.” said Diane. “Ms. Rayman wants to talk to ‘Diane’ and don’t know what to do. I mean she can see right through you literally everyone can.” Kalup said. “Calm down I’ll just foreshadow a girl who kinda looks like me and do that every day.” said Diane. “That could work hurry though. I’ll wait inside my classroom for you” Kalup said. “Okay, I’ll be right there.”said Diane. Diane began to look around to find someone. Finally she found a very pretty and smart girl.
