It had been three days since the king disappeared and three days since the secret wedding. Indigo spent the entire time in her bed. Never ending tears stained her face and pillows. She had frequent visits from her husband who couldn't find a way to console her and spent most of the time holding her and then leaving for his own bed.
Indigos cries carried into the next room over most evening's. Zine wished he could join in with his sister, he felt her pain bubble in his chest. He wanted to explode. None of this was fair, she couldn't love the man she did, he couldn't either. Today he would have to pretend he never knew Seribia and then two days after that he would watch him marry his sister. Always so close he could touch him but always out of reach.
He secured his belt just before there was a knock on his door. It had been just over three months since he did this for Jalest. He sighed and stepped out of his room the same time that Indigo did. Her usual black attire drifting down her from head to toe, and the veil in place perfectly. But somehow Zine could see the red eyes underneath.
Granted he couldn't actually see it but he could place the two sky blue eyes tearing up in the right place. Without warning he embraced his sister. There was a small pause but then Indigo tightly wrapped her arms around her brother. They stayed like that for a while.
Indigo spoke up first. "It's time to go now." And she slowly slid away from him and marched down to the palace steps with her brother. She took her place next to Luka while Zine took his between Social Repose and Indigo. Richard took his place at the foot of the stairs as acting king.
A dark green and grey carriage pulled up in front of the group. Indigo flinched when the door opened but otherwise the group was stoic.
"Hello king Henry, it would be my pleasure to show you this wonderful kingdom in place of Robert while he's away." Richard bowed deeply.
The three children of the castle bit away smirks when a confused Social Repose whispered "your fathers name is Robert? That is the most normal name I've ever heard in this country."
There was chatter amount the kings but the three princes and princess looked up when there was a clatter anounceing the second passenger had gotten out.
Seribia looked over luka first, the supposed mesiah of Lucida. He wasn't to impressed, luka was after all a child to him. He then moved over to indigo. Most beautiful girl in all the realms and yet when you looked at her you couldn't even imagine what she would look like underneath. Seribia looked over to the eldest Prince. Zine, supposed to be a great warrior sworn off women to never fail even this guy should have been intimidating. But when he looked he paused on him. If he hadn't had any self control he would have run to him. Zine was his Zine. His lovely blue eyed angel his God and religion his one and only true love, His Zine.
Zine stood unfazed and neutral while looking at Seribia, his heart was pounding and he felt like he might cry from the hurt confusion in his loves eyes but did nothing.
"Henry and Seribia, this is luka the greatest healer in the nation if not the world. And This is Zine The greatest warrior to walk among men. This is Social Repose my son and heir to the Jalest throne. And finally this is Indigo, princess of Lucida and Queen of the enchanted forrest and your bride to be." Richard presented each person on the steps.
"What type of name is Indigo for someone who doesn't wear colors?" Seribia asked.
Social repose smiled and for the first time in weeks a hint of one came to indigo.
"What type of name is Seribia for a boy?" Indigo responded.
"I suppose you're right." He said.
"If you two would excuse me I'd like to rest in my chambers until supper this evening. It has been quite the exciting day." Indigo said and the two new guests nodded.
A while later the guests had been shown to their rooms and everyone had retired to their quarters. Social repose was on his way to Indigos room when he ran into a particularly lost Seribia.
"Can I help you?" He asked passing him.
Seribia looked up. "Oh yes um, could you show me the way to Prince Zines chambers? He wanted to discuss a matter of his sister with me."
Social Repose blinked. "I'll show you despite your lying." He said
Seribia looked confused "lying?"
"Yes lying. See Zine leaves all matters concerning his sister to his sister. He's not stupid enough to say anything about her without her knowledge. She is quite terrifying once you see her upset with you. Luka is the only one to talk about indigo with anyone besides herself. Now follow me." Social Repose said and began walking again.
After a while they reached the corridor with only three doors. Social Repose walked down to the one on the end and knocked. Seribia was right behind him. Zine opened the door and sighed.
"What do you want?" Zine asked over Social Reposes shoulder.
"We need to talk." He said and pushed into the room shutting the door behind him.
"What is there to talk about Seribia?" Zine sighed slouching into one of the chairs in his room.
"Everything. I thought there was something between us Z. But I guess I was wrong." Seribia said sadly.
Zine shot up out of his chair, his neutral cover gone.
"Nothing? You think just cause I'm here there's nothing? I'm trying to do my best to keep myself from stopping this whole dann thing. Indigo is doing her best too. She doesn't get to love who she loves or hold her one true love like she deserves so why should I throw away everything she's done for someone who lied to me?" Zine shouted.
Seribia shouted back " I didn't lie. You lied. You said you were captain of the royal guard. Now excuse me if royal guard doesn't shout out prince of the whole damn land."
"It does here. Here only a royal family member can control them. And you said you were a nobel mans son. That means less than prince. I thought I'd see you around here sometime. At least I own the fact that I'm from a country." Zine yelled back. Tears threatened his eyes. "I loved you. I risked this whole life for you. My father outlawed people like me. I needed you. I survived every battle just so I could come home to you. Your letters gave me strength to carry on. You were the god they talk about when they tell my story. Love doesn't begin to cover what I feel for you. So if that is nothing then so be it. Nothing is all I feel for you." Tears had fallen and he couldn't help himself he was sobbing.
The was still and quiet for what seemed like hours. Then all at once the world crashed around Zine. Seribia tackled him with a kiss and despite Zines state he didn't stop. A few moments later Zine got a hold of himself and pushed Seribia off him slightly.
"We can't." Zine whispered trying to calm himself down.
"Yes we can. Let me take care of you. For one final night. Please for me." Seribia begged and wiped his loves tears away while massaging his neck with the other hand slowly soothing him back down.
Zine was tense. He shouldn't. He should kick Seribia out and try to get through the next few days. But his heart and body screamed yes. And so he nodded and the Seribia smiled and kissed Zine again.Hey look I updated again in like the same week I think. Anyway I wanted to say thank you to everyone who reads this.
