They walked back down the man-made path through the woods for a while, heading back, before Madeline started to feel off.

"Andy..?" She squeezed his hand.

"Yeah? What's wrong?" By now they had stopped walking as Andy turned to her confused and slightly concerned by the tone of her voice.

"I don't know... I just, I feel weird."

"What do you mean?"

Madeline took a deep breath and shook her head.

Without the loud sound of fireworks going off, the only sound that was heard were the crickets in the distance and the slight breeze that blew through the trees.

"I'm not sure. I feel... Hot." She furrowed her eyebrows.

Normally, Andy would've made a joke by now about Madeline's comment, but he knew something was wrong. He wanted to look inside her mind to know what she felt, but he couldn't for some reason right now, as if a type of shield blocked her off.

"Ow, fuck!" Andy dropped Madeline's hand as her flames had appeared, burning Andy a little.

"Andy! I'm so sorry! I... I don't know..-" Before she could finish her sentence, her flames encircled her just like they did at her birthday party. "Andy...!?" Madeline's eyes glowed an orange-red color, just like the color of fire.

Andy couldn't get to her or he'd be burned. He tried to pry into her mind to make her stop, but every time he tried, a searing pain would erupt in his head, almost like his mind was being burned.

"Madeline! You've got to learn how to stop yourself!" Andy shouted as the flames had taken over her, the noise of the fire crackling.

"I-I can't!"

Andy backed up. The heat was getting too much, and if he didn't get her out of the woods, the whole place would set fire and maybe even the town too. He looked around for something to extinguish her fire, but he had nothing. He had to helplessly watch as she continued to cause swirls of fire to surround her.

Suddenly, the fire's roar became louder, and it shot straight up into the sky like a flare gun shot. It was blazing hot and bright that Andy had to shield his face with his arms. As the fire died down, Madeline looked at Andy, her eyes returning to her normal blue color before her eyes rolled back into her head, and she fell.

"Madeline!" Andy raced over to her, catching her before she fell to the ground. He was finally able to hold her up without getting burned, but Madeline was knocked out. "Fuck, fuck, fuck!"

Andy looked around trying to think of what to do. To his surprise, the woods had not caught fire at all. There was only a charred circle of ash where Madeline stood before.

The sound of sirens could be heard getting closer.

"Fuck!" Andy kept cursing. Everything seemed to be going downhill real quick. Of course everyone saw the giant flame tower that Madeline had made. It was only a matter of time before the Capitol soldiers came to see what happened.

Andy picked up Madeline bridal-style and started to fast walk as best as he could back to BIA. Madeline wasn't heavy at all, she weighed maybe 100 pounds, but holding someone while trying to get away from police is another story.
