The car screeched to a halt, after the jangling of keys where heard, the door flew open to reveal a timid young man in all black, this black shoes tapped the concrete outside of the hospital. and soon would tap the smooth tile of the hospitals waiting area, hand sanitizer lay dormant in the air almost enough to gag on, and the pasty colors of the wall made it hard to distinguish what was wall and what was ceiling. The man slid his way through the rows of green torn waiting seats to the front counter, after a quick exchange in between the counter worker and the man. He turned on the ball of his heel and walked down a long bleach white hallway, the lights hummed from poor maintenance, his walk slowed as he made it to a room labeled 13V. A deep sigh was the only reaction the man made as he creaked open the door, the eggshell colored walls did nothing to cover the yellowish stains that seemed to drip from the ceiling like an IV bag before seeping into the walls, making the probably once nice wallpaper crumple and scrunch like petals of a flower. The only sound in the room was the sound of two people breathing, one healthy and hearty, the other shallow and clouded. The only thing that even looked like it was from the 20th century was a patient bed, its clean white colors were a sight for sore eyes from the dirtish walls and the new edition of a deep beep every second or so was almost hypnotic. The man now loomed over the bed looking at the elderly women deep in sleep, her skin was virgin white probably from not enough exposure to the sun, her white hair looked the color of freshly laid snow, and her eye sockets seemed to dimple from being in her "golden years". The man's eyes seemed to gaze from her to the heart monitor, its beep would slow and the line would almost give in. after a another few weak beeps the line gradually losing its height like a wounded bird and fell......
