For the first 5 years of my life my mother & I had to fight for hearing aids. Why hearing aids ? Well I was born deaf in both of my ears. My mom first discovered I was deaf when I was sitting on the hard wood floor I'm guesstimating I was about a couple months old.  She screaming at me "Lexie come here!" I continued to play with my toys. Then all the sudden I fall over & happen to put my ear against the wooden floor & I hear the vibration travel into my ear & I hear my mom calling my name. I peak for a second as my head against the wood & smile. My mom comes & picks me up & wonders... Why didn't she hear me the first time? She says to my grandmother. "There's something wrong really wrong "! What do you mean she says ? My daughter can't hear there's something wrong!! Calm down Crystal we will figure everything out in the morning for right now we all need to just calm down. Alright but um we need to figure this out I don't know what has gone so wrong?... I know crystal everyone is just as worried as you are.
As the years go on & on Lexie finally hears her mom for the first time & it was the most amazing thing of all times. I've had my hearing aids for 17years now & sometimes I just turn them off or take them out when people get annoying like my mother or brother. To this day if I didn't have these hearing aids I would of never came this far in life that I am right now. I didn't mention that I get hearing aids every year brand new just to upgrade them the doctors take really good care of me. I do also go to speech for the words & other stuff I have trouble with.
