"You're early." Katara said when I showed up at her doorstep early in the morning.
"Of course, I've been looking forward to this." I said smiling big.

She let me in and showed me to one her rooms.
It was filled with water in buckets and some calming painting matching the rooms atmosphere.
"Sit down here and let me teach you the basics." Katara pointed at a pillow on the floor, in front of a water bucket.

I did as she said.
"Good, now I can show you." Katara let her hand go down into the bucket, and her hands was now surrounded by glowing water.

"You need to focus entirely on the water and let it become a part of your mind. When you can do that, you'll be able to focus on healing. Sometimes it works better, when you're passionate about it." She explained and let her hand go up from the bucket with the water.

"Your turn." She said, and gave me an assuring smile.
I took a deep breath and looked at the water. How hard could it be, right?
I let my hands go down into the water and closed my eyes to try and focus.
When I opened them, nothing had happened.

I sighed and tried again, trying to push all other feelings away.
"You're doing it wrong." A voice said in my head.
I sighed and took my hands up. I was going crazy.

"Keep trying, that's the only way to learn." Katara said and left me.
"Gee, thanks." I said out loud when she was gone. Where did that come from?
I shook the bad feeling off and kept going.

"And then I couldn't even get the water to glow or anything. No reaction!?" I said a little frustrated by myself.
"Oh come on Nao, you've only been a bender for half a year." Korra tried.
I sighed and gave her a little smile, she wouldn't understand. She'd been a great bender all of her life. Learning everything in a heartbeat.

"How was training with Unalaq?" I asked her, changing the subject.
"It was different from Tenzin I must say. Unalaq wants to travel to the south pole." She admitted, with a big smile.
"Well, you're not going alone with him, are you?" I asked, wanting to come with them.
"No Mako, Bolin Eska and Desna are coming too."

"And then of course my best friend, with her great new waterbending skills." I was so happy when she said that, and I couldn't wait.
"We're leaving tomorrow morning." She said and gave me a quick hug before leaving.
Guess it was Mako time for her. I couldn't help but smile.

Since I had nothing else to do, I walked to my cliff and started training.
After hours and hours of waterbending like a crazy person, I wanted to give my healing powers a try again.
I sat down and focused on the water in front of me.
I had a weird feeling about the healing, like I wouldn't be able to unlock the skill.

I sighed when the sun went down. Better go home and sleep.

The house was empty.
I had forgotten about my mother leaving.

The second as I was in my room I jumped into my bed, and looked at the ceiling.
Don't worry Naomi, you can do this.

I woke up the next morning, and got out of bed to pack a few things.
When I found Korra and the rest of the group, Unalaq and Tonraq were fighting.
Tonraq wanted to come with us, which I understood.
Korra is his daughter after all.

"He's ignored my warnings in the past and hasn't learned since." I heard Unalaq say while I was getting my camel ready.
"What happened in the past?" Korra asked. I had a feeling we would find out soon enough.
I wondered where Bolin was.

"It doesn't matter. What matters is The Everstorm." Tonraq said, which was also a worry of mine.
"The Everstorm?" Mako asked confused.
"It's a massive blizzard that's battered the South Pole for decades." I explained, and Mako gave me a quick but worried nod.
