Shiukori, Inuyasha's Sister

Chapter Four: Naraku's Puppet

Koga agreed to behave himself as long as they let him join them. Shiukori was reluctant, but ultimately agreed, much to her distaste. Inuyasha was simply out-voted. He'd send glares at Koga every chance he got. Koga, who would not leave either Kagome or Shiukori alone.

Kagome felt selfish, thinking this, but couldn't help it. She was somewhat glad that Koga was interested in Shiukori. Or 'intrigued' as he put it. Maybe now, he'd finally stop bugging her. Having said that, she still felt pity for her.

After a few minutes, Inuyasha stopped, causing the other six to stop and look back at him. Miroku felt a shiver down his spine at the powerful demonic aura. Kagome sensed a lot of jewel shards, as well. Shiukori smelled something foul, like rotting meat. This was the same thing that both Koga and Inuyasha smelled. They all knew what this meant, save for Shiukori. The four of them said it out loud, at the same time.

"Naraku."

Sango took a gasp and Shippo covered his ears. Shiukori observed her friends' strange behavior.

"I'll kill that bastard! And take the sacred jewel from him!" Inuyasha declared, drawing the Tetsusaiga immediately.

"Today will be the day I'll finally get revenge for my comrades!" Koga agreed.

Sango looked down, and mumbled something under her breath before looking up again and shouting, "and I for Kohaku!"

"Will someone please explain to me what's going on!?" Shiukori barked, exasperated and confused.

"Naraku is our main enemy. We all have a reason for revenge. For me, it's what he did to Kikyo and I, he killed at least a hundred of Koga's comrades, and enslaved Sango's brother Kohaku. To top it all off, he cursed Miroku's father with the wind tunnel that killed him, and now threatens Miroku's life," Inuyasha explained. She thought for a moment, then nodded, resting a hand on Hikarisaiga.

They ventured further into the forest to find Naraku. Shiukori lead the group, as she had the best sense of smell.

"Kori, you sure you know where you're going?" Inuyasha questioned.

"I'm following the smell of rotting meat," she assured him, narrowing her eyes. Never once, did she take her hand off of Hikarisaiga. None of the others had ever seen her so demanding, and as such a leader. She was always usually the laid-back one, who followed whatever they did. But now, it was as if she felt their pain. It was as if she wanted to help them heal, and help them get revenge.

They stopped walking when a tentacle came flying towards Shiukori, which she easily cut down with her claws. Koga and Inuyasha both let out a breath of relief when they noticed that she was fine, causing Inuyasha to glare at him and Koga to reciprocate it. Shiukori kept walking as more and more tentacles came towards them. They quickly began circling around her, encasing her. Though, everyone stood back, watching her take care of herself. A light flashed inside of the case of tentacles and Shiukori emerged, looking particularly unphased and bored.

"This is your all powerful demon adversary? Ha, he's no more than a child compared to us," she scoffed.

"But he's cunning and smart. He likes to play tricks," Kagome explained.

"Keh, we'll see how cunning he is when I'm done with him," she turned away and began leading the group again.

They came to a clearing that was inhabited by a man in a white baboon costume. He shot his tentacles at them all. Kagome began shooting them with her arrows, Shippo got rid of them with Foxfire, Miroku was hitting them with his staff, Sango was throwing Hiraikotsu at them, Koga was kicking them, and Inuyasha was cutting them down with Tetsusaiga. While Kagome was distracted by a tentacle, another one began rushing towards her. Shiukori cut it down with her claws and jumped away, moving to the next. A few tentacles came her way but she quickly scratched them away. A tentacle headed towards Koga as his back was turned but she immediately cut it away, then jumped to the next stray tentacle. Koga admired her.
