"Jeez, how is he so fine?" Y/N thought to herself as she watched Booker from across the room. Y/N was a quiet cutie and one of the smartest girls on campus, she was studying to be a doctor. Devin Booker was KU's most popular student, hence he was the star baller on their team. Booker was heavily dedicated to his craft and often didn't pay much attention to the girls throwing themselves at him. He did in fact pay attention to Y/N but he never talked to her. "She would even give me the time of day man, look at her she's wifey material bro," he told his best friend Dlo. They both stole glances at her while she studied. She truly was drop-dead gorgeous, with glowing brown skin, full bouncy locs of curls, built like Queen Bey... half the time she didn't realize guys checking her out and when she did she thought the absolute worse she would they were poking fun at her.
After studying all afternoon Y/N made her way to her dorm her best friend about the upcoming tests she bumped shoulders with someone "Goodness I'm sorry love" she said without looking back.
Devin chuckles to himself butterflies bubbling inside him after she calls him love. "Bro if don't ask her out I will. No lies" Dlo explains. Booker bites his knuckle as she power walks away. He daps up his friend and jogs after her. "Hey! Hey, Y/N! Wait up!" Y/N halts to a stop "I know that's not my man who doesn't know he my man calling me" she thinks to herself. She slowly turned around acting all calm.
"Hey Y/N... Uhh Uhhh...Question."
"What's up?" Y/N encourages with a smile
"I wanted to know....if you could help me with some of this math. It won't look good if a fail an exam."
"Oh? Who says I'm any good at math Booker?" She asks with a smirk
"Y/N, please everybody and they momma know you smart as hell. Wait, you know my name already?" Devin asks while cheesing
Y/N laughs "Who doesn't know the infamous Devin Booker?"
"Alright, alright you got me. Look I want to take you out sometime. Treat you to a game or two?" He suggests
"Oh? A date?"
"That is if you are available. I know everybody be asking you out mama" He interrupts
Y/N laughs "I'm available, but only cause you asked"
Devin gets all red in the cheeks
"I find it sweet that you have time for me, here put your number in my phone. Can I walk you to your dorm hall?"
"Oh of course you can Mr. Booker" Y/N beamed
"Anytime Mrs. Booker" Devin thought to himself while he smiled at her

"Aye, man! Guess who I'm about to go on a date with? Y/N!" Devin was ecstatic
"It's about time book. You drooled over this girl all semester. I'm surprised you remembered how to talk." Dlo was sick of Devin constantly talking about this girl but he was glad to see his homie get the girl of his dreams.
Devin spent the rest of the night planning their date and texting "his girl"😂

Devin planned a cute campus date for the pair. They went to the pottery and ceramics building to make mugs and bowls together.
"Wow, this is kinda hard how do people do this every day?" Devin wondered out loud
"You doing pretty good for someone that's never done it before. You got some skill Book"
Devin loves hearing Y/n say his name it definitely makes him weak in the knees
As Devin molds his mug he looks over to Y/N "You look really pretty tonight"
Y/N smiles "Thank you, Devin you look, handsome buddy"
"Whoa whoa, buddy? Come on Y/N friend zoned that fast?" He says only half joking holding his chest
"Oh? I didn't the play-playa would care. I'm so so sorry Booker" Y/N pokes
He chuckles "I have a heart Y/N. I'm no playa playa. My momma would kill me if I was"
Y/N threw her head back laughing "Oh goodness. I like her already!"
"I'm she'll like you too" Devin smirks looking at his creation
Y/N smiled to herself and fixed at her creation slightly dying inside

After their little date, Devin walked Y/n back to her dorm. They laughed and cracked joke the whole way.
"So you ready for this game or what?" Devin questions
Y/N jokingly says "Oh most definitely, and y'all better not lose."
"Never that especially cause you're gonna be there I can't let the lady down" He gloated
"Well I'll be there front and center" She kissed him on the cheek and made her way up to her dorm
Let's just say once Devin got to his dorm he Kept dlo up all night talking about this girl.😌
