Chapter 9

Chapter 9

Susie woke up. She had had an exceptionally weird dream....and exceptionally real too. She was dating Micheal Atiya, the second most-wanted guy at Glendale High and he acted like a total baby so she broke up with him. She looked around and saw blue walls and an untidy room. This was not her room. 

And then it came flooding back to her. She had been crying after Mike's childish behaviour and without thinking, her feet brought her here. To Noah's house. She remembered Aaron, his hot older brother, comfort her for a while and tell her to go take a nap in Noah's room and wait for him. After that, she had drifted off to dreamland...

"So, you're awake."

Susie whipped her head round and saw an expressionless Noah standing in the doorway. He had changed from the school uniform he wore to school to a white t-shirt that clung to his body. His very well-defined body. 

He smirked when he saw her checking him out and she blushed tomato red. What was she supposed to do now? She was over him! Yet her eyes couldn't stay away from his face, his body, him.

"Yes, I'm awake. How long have I been here?"

She had completely lost track of time and she was going to be dead meat if she wasn't home by seven, which was when her dad got home from work. But before that, she'd have to answer to Justine...

He looked at his black watch and his eyebrows furrowed. He looked so cute doing that and when he looked up with those gr- 'SNAP OUT OF IT!' she yelled at herself inwardly.

"It's a quarter past four. Why're you here?" 

She breathed a sigh of relief. Dodging his question, she stood up and folded his blanket. Taking out a band from her pocket, she tied her unruly hair into a loose bun. She could feel Noah's eyes following her every movement. Smoothing out her skirt, she took her messenger bag, which had been lying on his desk and purposefully avoided his green-eyed gaze. 

"You haven't answered my question, Susie. Surely you didn't come here for a nap?" he asked, one of his eyebrows rising up.

She loved the way he said her name, rolling the two syllables with his tongue... 'SNAP OUT OF IT!' she yelled at herself on the inside again.

"Uh...I-I forgot why I came here in the first place! Thank you for letting me sleep here but I should be leaving, Justine will be furious and I promised to help her get ready for her date. And Papa will be quite mad if he finds out I stayed and slept over at a boy's house." she blabbered.

"You didn't mind what your Papa thought when you used to sneak up on me everyday after school." he retorted silently. "Sit and tell me what happened."

She sighed. "Fine. I guess I can spare a few minutes..." She sat down on his bed and he took his chair and set it infront of her. "Talk." he commanded.

So Susie did. She told him how stupid Micheal had been and how she didn't know what to do now because a part of her liked the looks the other jealous girls were giving her. She talked about how she'd been over the moon when he asked her out and how she hoped this would make her get over her 'stalker' stage.

She noticed him gazing at her intently, and she was very confused. Why was he being so nice all of  a sudden? Did he like her? But then she realized how stupid her last thought was. Maybe he was doing this for Mike. Maybe Mike asked him to get her to come back to him. 

She stopped her tale. Noah raked a hand through his curly dark hair. He often did that when he was thinking about something. She wondered what she was thinking about now. 

He cleared his throat and opened those kissable lips 'SNAP OUT OF IT!' she thought angrily. It was very, very hard to control herself around him.

Opened his mouth and said:

"Go talk to him, Susie. He needs you. You've changed him."
