Maya:

"Let's make this more interesting. A lap around the park, last one back needs to take the other one out on a date." Aaliyah said and I knew her plan.

Both me and Shawn started blushing. "Okay take your marks." Aaliyah said and we stood in the concrete path waiting on her call.

"Get set...GO!" She yelled and as soon as she said that both me and Shawn sprinted away.

He was ahead of me but that's okay, I was slacking down to maintain my energy for the final push.

He was far ahead but then when we're almost at the finish line he started slowing down and I saw my opportunity to pass him. I ran as fast as I could and went over the finish line where Aaliyah was waiting, first.

"Ha, a few swift moves you said?" I say and laughed at his irritated look on his face. But it soon faded and was replaced with a big smile and burning cheeks, "But yet I won." He said and I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion.

"How so?" I asked catching my breath, crossing my arms over my chest. "Because I get to take you on a date now..." he said and walked closer to me.

"Ha!" He said in my face and I smiled at his childishness. "Very mature Mendes." I said and he blushed. "Should we go back?" Aaliyah asked interrupting our moment of just looking into each other's eyes.

"Uh-yeah sure." Shawn stuttered and Aaliyah jumped on his back. We walked back to the hotel and went to the elevator to ride it to our floor.

"Well goodnight Maya. See you tomorrow." Shawn said and Aaliyah waved at me.

"Goodnight." I said and smiled opening up my door to my room. I was sad the night was over. It was so fun.

Shawn seems to be winning over my heart, with no trouble and without him even knowing it.

He's so understanding, supportive, loving and caring towards me.

He's the best.

Maybe I need to move on from Marcus.

I think it's time to let go of the painful past.
