6. Wake

I'm so sorry. I was going to do a chapter a day but I broke my laptop and my dad grounded me and took my phone 😭.

Grell P.O.V

It's been a week since the incident where William and I were locked in the PE building and William still hasn't told me what's wrong. We haven't seen each other outside of school and I'm really worried for him. Today he hasn't even shown up for school! He broke his 5 year 100% attendance! I decided to go to his house after school.

After school I decided to drop by William's house and was shocked to see a party-like atmosphere. The front door was open and people were coming in and out, chatting and drinking. But there was one thing wrong for it to be a party, everyone was wearing black.

"A wake?" I thought out loud, before approaching the house.
I was horrified to see William practically fall out of the front door. Was he, drunk?!
"William, what's going on?" I questioned cautiously as I helped him up.

"I don't need your pity! *hic* They're dead. Nothing I can do about it. *hic*" I looked in confusion at my boyfriend.

"William. Tell me what's going on. Why are you drunk? Who died?" He looked confused for a minute before answering me.

"I forgot to tell You didn't I?" His voice was suddenly calm and serious, like usual. It was like he hadn't had a drop of alcohol.
"Last week when I got that phone call, it was the hospital telling me that my parents and sister died in a car crash. To be honest I never got along with them anyway." His voice was scarily calm and his face was blank. Emotionless.

"You said you don't want my pity, so instead do you want to come back to mine so we can talk about it?" It sounded selfish to say I just wanted his company, but at the same time I didn't want to leave him alone.

"Yeah. Give me a minute." I sat on the wall outside his house and waited as William went back inside. Probably to tell someone he was going out or to grab a coat. After what felt like an eternity, William left the house holding a large backpack.

"Don't do anything stupid William!" A woman chased him out the house. I tried not to laugh at the sight. She was young with long brown hair, an aunt maybe?

"I won't I'm going to stay at my boyfriends house for a bit. I will be back in a few days. Just make sure no one steals anything." He said in a monotone voice. Wait?! A few days?!

"Oh ok. Take care!" She shouted as I jumped off the wall. We began walking down the street in an awkward silence. It was going to be a long night.
