"M-my Diamond?" a small, lanky figure said as she hurried to follow her master. "Is everything alright?"

The giant, yellow woman stalked through the brightly lit hallway, completely ignoring her little pearl. Her face showed no emotion. There was no anger. No happiness. Nothing. The only way into the leader's heart were her eyes. Deep inside was an abyss of sadness, full of the kind of sorrow that can slowly erode a person's soul. But, emotions were unneeded, and useless in the mind of the powerful diamond.

"My Diamond?" The yellow pearl repeated again, albeit timidly.

Yellow diamond cast a glance down toward her pearl and she glared at the servant gem. "I am fine." She growled and turned her gaze once again toward her path.

Both Diamond and Pearl stopped when they reached a colossal door. The door may have been big, but it was simple. It had no decorations and there was nothing about the door made it special, nothing that made it significant to a gem that passed by. Though, to Yellow Diamond, where else had more significance.

Once again the brave leader cast a glance down at her Pearl. "Pearl, stay out here. Make sure I am not bothered." the gem ordered and Yellow Pearl quickly obeyed by standing by the door.

Yellow Diamond sighed and opened the entryway. She swiftly walked in and locked the door behind her.

The giant woman reverently walked to a small shrine. She took off her helmet and placed it gently by a picture of a brightly smiling, pink diamond. Yellow Diamond stared at the picture for a few moments. Inside, the brave leader could feel bottled sadness begin to rise and she closed her eyes to fight the tears that began to form.

Emotions that had been built behind an unbreakable dam were beginning to leak through tiny holes and cracks that had snuck through.. Now, the once invincible dam came crashing down. Yellow Diamond's bottled grief, anger, and sadness released themselves in a cry of agony. Tears flooded down her cheeks and they splashed down onto the humble shrine.

Yellow Diamond hunched and her hands clutched her sister's picture. Suppressed memories followed the flood of emotions and the already damaged Diamond collapsed onto the floor. She pressed a hand to her forehead in a fetal attempt to stop the emotions. She didn't want to feel. She didn't want emotions, but they came. The turbulence within her heart was now surfacing, and Yellow Diamond couldn't control it. She hated it. She hated emotions, and she hated the feeling of helplessness that began wrap around her throat. It seemed feelings had one goal, and that was to drown out this powerful leader's resolve.

Yellow Diamond squeezed her eyes shut and bit her lip, just to keep her mind off of the storm of emotions.

She had visited this place before, but never before did had this swarm of emotions come to sting her. This was something that was unfamiliar, and strange. Never had Yellow Diamond have this uncontrollable flood of emotions and it seemed, to her that they would never end. But, it did. After an eternity, the swarm died to a small buzz.

Yellow Diamond finally gathered the strength to stand up, but she was still shaky. The bold leader's usual scowl appeared once again on her face as she placed her helmet on her head. Almost immediately, the magic of the helmet began to work. It blocked intense emotions, albeit it was sometimes unsuccessful, but it did not fail in soothing Yellow Diamond's recent turmoil of emotions. She took a deep breath of relief, and a rare smile appeared. Once again, Yellow Diamond felt strong. She was slowly recovering, but just the feeling of being in control eased some of Yellow Diamond's tension. She was in control, and there was nothing that could take that away.

With a few strokes of her hand, Yellow Diamond unlocked the door and was swiftly greeted by her pearl.

"My Diamond." Yellow Pearl said respectfully as she saluted her leader and master. "Things went well, I assume." She said in her usual shrill voice.

Yellow Diamond paid no attention to her pearl. She didn't feel like dealing with the shrieky gem. Instead, she walked forwards and down the hallway in which she came. It was time to be a leader, and a leader needed to be strong.
