Natasha and Saleen led the way into the United Nations complex, the Doctor and Clara behind them, Natasha wearing dark purple, Saleen in ice blue, Clara a black and white diamond-patterned dress, the Doctor his usual attire. "Excuse me, Miss Romanoff, Doctor, Miss Oswald?" one of the staffers walked up to them.
"Yes?" Natasha asked.
"These need your signatures," the staffer handed over a clipboard. The three of them obliged. "Thank you."
"Thanks," Natasha nodded.
"I suppose none of us is used to the spotlight."
The Doctor turned at the heavily accented voice, straightening when he saw it was a young black man with a regal bearing. Recognizing his features from someone else, he nodded. "It's not always so flattering," he said dryly.
"You seem to be doing all right so far," T'Challa, King T'Chaka's son, told him. "Considering Miss Romanoff's last trip to Capitol Hill, I wouldn't think she would be particularly comfortable in this company."
"She might not be," the Doctor shrugged. "Who am I to judge? I'm certainly not."
"That alone makes me glad you're here, Doctor," T'Challa nodded.
"Why?" the Doctor looked around. "You don't approve of all this?"
"The Accords, yes. The politics, not really. Two people in a room can get more done than a hundred."
"Agreed," the Doctor chuckled.
"Unless you need to move a piano," another voice said.
"Father," T'Challa smiled.
"Son," T'Chaka nodded, then turned to the Doctor. "Doctor."
"King T'Chaka," the Doctor bowed slightly. "I apologize deeply for what happened in Nigeria."
"Thank you," T'Chaka shook his hand. "Thank you for agreeing to all this. I'm sad to hear that Captain Rogers and the Bad Wolf will not be joining us today."
"Yes," the Doctor sighed. "So am I."
"If everyone could please be seated," a voice said over the speakers. "This assembly is now in session."
"Thank you," the Doctor bowed one last time to the Wakandan King and his son before walking over to join Natasha, Saleen, and Clara in their row.

"When stolen Wakandan vibranium was used to make a terrible weapon, we in Wakanda were forced to question our legacy," T'Chaka spoke in front of the assembly. "Those men and women killed in Nigeria were part of a goodwill mission from a country too long in the shadows. We will, however, let misfortune drive us back. We will fight to improve the world we wish to join. I am grateful to the Avengers for supporting this initiative." Natasha and Saleen nodded when T'Chaka looked their way; the Doctor, however, frowned, spotting T'Challa looking intensely out one of the windows. "Wakanda is proud to extend its hand in peace – "
"Everybody get down!" T'Challa suddenly yelled, running for his father.
The Doctor's eyes widened, then a huge explosion shattered the windows, blowing through the conference hall. Clara screamed, and the Doctor grabbed her, diving for the ground. Clara curled up into him, the Doctor holding her close, phasing them through shrapnel showering them. A quick glance to his right, and he saw Saleen covering Natasha, an ice shield covering them.
