The Man In The "Abandoned" House

his story

Ellroy walks out of the kitchen and hands me a mountain dew.

"Thank you"

He nods,and sits across from me."so..." he begins,"I'm going to tell you my story IF you are willing to listen."

I nod,"I would love to hear your story Ellroy."

Ellroy smiles,"ok,cool....so my name is Ellroy and I am 27,there are these things that are after me,and I need someone to help me stop them",He pauses and looks at me to see my reaction.

I look him in the eyes to see if he's lying and see no hint of lies in them."what are these things called?"

Ellroy looks around with a scared look on his face and leans close to me. He then wispers,"they call themselves the black scarabs",he sits back up,"but they are not beetles"

"What do they want from you?"

He thinks for a minute,"they want my soul,these things are demons,and they need human souls for something...they won't tell me what they are using them for"

I take a minute to let what he just said sink in,and then look at him with a confused look,"demons are real?"

"Yes,trust me I didn't believe it the first time they told me either",he takes a drink of his mountain dew,"I've been fighting them for my soul since I was 20,they like to get in my head and try to make me insane,but I keep fighting,I won't let them have it,and I bet they arn't using these souls for good"

"Why are you telling me this?,why do you trust me?"

Ellroy looks me in the eyes and says,"because I sense a power from you,I believe you can help me kill these demons"

I look at him with a very confused look,"what!?,power? How could I have power,im just a normal human"

He sighs,and gently grabs my wrist and starts pulling me into a room. I just follow his lead,very confused. He pulls me into a room with a mirror and a table with a stick on it. He lets my hand go and turns to me and points to the stick on the table.

"Pick that up and look in the mirror,that is a magical stick that only works with people who have powers"he chuckles a little,"I know this all sounds ridiculous,but please bear with me "

I walk over to the table and pick up the stick and look in the mirror,the stick starts to glow a dark blue and my irises start to glow brown. I let out a small gasp,"what's happening?"

Ellroy smiles really big,"yes!,I knew you had power in you,that stick has wizard blood in it,and if the holder has magic, it will glow"

I continue staring at my reflection in disbelief,"this is so cool,but what are my powers?"

He walks across the room to a bookshelf and pulls down a book. Ellroy flips to a page and studies it for a second."it says if the stick glows dark blue your power is the ability to control all the elements,and you can fly by thinking about having wings,it also says you will have wings sprout out of your back" He shuts the book and puts it back.

"That's cool,I'm still very confused though,im 24,and I didn't know I had powers"

"Well,you know now"he chuckles,"so,are you willing to practice your magic and help me fight the black scarabs?"

"What kind of question is that? Of course I'll help you"
