"Jess, Jessica is that you?"

I turn around to face a familiar face, stopping the way of stressed commuters as I wait on the boy to catch up with me.

The boy's name was Jake, a fellow classmate who I'd been good friends with through out a lot of my time in school.

"I can't believe this is real, like what are the odds on me meeting you here"

Jake look at me excited before I embrace him in a hug, the memories from my early teen years flooding back to me.

"So everything's going good with you?"

We've made our way to a less busy park and are finally able to start catching up on stuff.

"Yeah, I actually live in Cape Town now but a good friend of mine is getting married this weekend so I'm here to celebrate with everyone, and you, why are you here?"

I look out over the small pond in front of us, the water glistening in the sun.

"I permanently live in London since a few years back now, I moved over in 2016 for work reasons actually. You know I do YouTube right?"

Jake nod, his fingers fiddling with the dry grass we're sat on.

"Yeah, as do Caspar and Josh too if I'm not mistaking myself"

I nod, it was strange having a formal discussion with someone you hadn't spoken to since you were like sixteen.

"So any girlfriends yet?"

He sigh and I instantly feel a bit awkward.

"Eh, no not at the moment, last relationship ended rather abruptly so I'm living the single life right now. You must've found someone though, like a girl like you can't have problems with boys, can you?"

I blush and avoid his eye contact. It felt weird having someone you haven't met in ages flirting with you, especially when you've got a boyfriend.

"Yeah you're right, it happened as soon as I got to London, funnily enough did I actually meet him the night that I arrived"

Jake nod and I can tell he's a bit jealous.

"Oh, I understand, lucky you"

I smile, the thought of Conor making my heart flutter but Jake just sit there, biting his nails.

"Jake I'm sorry okay, it wasn't meant to come out the way it did"

He place his arms behind his head and lie down, staring up in the blue sky.

"No it's okay, don't worry about it, You deserve it Jess after everything you went through with Ethan and stuff"

Conor's P.O.V

"Daddy, can we have Friday dinner with mummy tonight?"

Leonelle climb up on the sofa and settle down beside me, her head leaned against my shoulder, overlooking what I'm doing on my laptop.

"Mm maybe honey, daddy's a bit busy but I can call mum and ask her"

Mesmerised by the song that I'm working on does she just sit there, nodding her head stuck in thought.

"But I never eat dinner with just you and mummy anymore, please daddy"

I sigh, since Jess got discharged from hospital a couple of days ago have we both been pretty out of it, not giving our daughter the attention she actually needed and I felt bad knowing she always had to play on her own or hang out with Jack or the others.
