She sat alone underneath the stars,

On a cold paved road without any cars.

Goosebumps on her arms, and a bow in her hair

Wishing alone, if they hear, they don't care.

Her heartbeat is silent, worn from the lies.

Her mind's screaming loud as she closes her eyes.

All she sees is him in the memories that remain

Her falling tears are mixed with the now falling rain.

Without a care in the world, she shivers but stays.

She craves him more with each passing day

The way that he laughed, and how he said her name

She knew, with him in her life, nothing would be the same.

She hasn't slept since they last spoke,

Her lungs are filled with a familiar smoke.

Just one more chance, that's all she's wanting

To free herself of the reality that's haunting.

It's a waste of breath, she knows the end is near

No need to worry, her best friend is fear.

He left her to walk this cruel world alone,

So here's where she sits, soaked to the bone.

She knows to be with him, there's only one way.

On the cold paved road the very next day,

Left in the sunlight, here's what remains

A little blue bow and

The smell of the rain
