Danny awoke around midnight. He looked at his clock with half of his eyes open. He groaned and got up to get a glass of water. Before he got to the stairway he heard a thud beneath the stairs. He quietly went back to the bedroom where Myla lay sleeping and grabbed his biggest hunting knife that he always kept on his night stand.

Then he tiptoed toward the stairs, light coming from the kitchen poured on the walls. Halfway down the carpet stairs, he heard soft thuds of dishes hitting the counter. When he peeked around the corner, he saw a man stealing his food. "Hey!," Danny yelled.
the man stopped, turned around and said, "see ya."

The man grabbed a bag of food and rushed through the door. Danny froze. He frantically grabbed his phone from his left pocket and punched in the numbers "9-1-1." He told the police he saw a man. Myla was very scared as she clutched Lilly in her woven arms.

A policeman approached Danny, "What did this man look like?, " he asked. "I don't understand, didn't I already go over this with the other officers?," Danny said in a slight agitated voice. "Yes, but I have to do a follow-up, it's required sir," the man replied. Danny sighed, "I didn't see his face, but he was wearing a black hoodie, but the way he moved, I could say that he could have been old." "Thank you, " the officer said. the officer then walked away to the other officers around a flashing red, white and blue lights on a state car.
