London, 1953

I had set the controls to random, not knowing where I would end up. And unfortunately with TARDIS's, you never know if that place will be good or bad. This time it was good. I had spent an entire evening at a concert. Old 50s style music that gave me "good vibes" all over. Do people say that? I don't know. It just made me feel good and sort of, well, nostalgic.

Oh, wait a minute! I think I forgot to introduce myself! My name is Dan'xi Rellian. That may be a little hard to remember, so I just go by Dan. All of my friends know me as Daniel Ellis. It's a little less conspicuous, seeing as how my other name is sort of. . . I don't know. . . alien? Oh, yeah. I should probably mention that little detail as well. I'm an alien. No, not like you see in movies. I'm not green, and I definitely don't have a head like that. I look completely normal. Like any other human being on the planet Earth. I come from a race known as the Caonis. I am the last of my people. I know, you always hear that, but no, seriously. It's not funny. My entire family and race is dead. My home is destroyed. I know it didn't happen yesterday, but the feeling that you can never go back again? The feeling that you know there is no one out there in the entire universe that can relate to you? Yeah, it's pretty awful. But of course you're gonna ask, Why can't you just go back in time and visit it? Well, it's not that simple. There's these really important things called the Laws of Time. Oh, did I mention they are REALLY important? Well, it would be breaking about 5 or 6, thats 5 or 6 hundred of them to travel back and see it, so that's not really an option for me. But there is also a tiny detail about me that I have never told anyone. Ever. At least, no one on Earth. I happen to be 596 years old. But I don't look it. I probably look about, oh, 25-ish? We Caonis do this little thing called regeneration. We got it from our ancestors, the Time Lords. But please don't mention them. The Caonis and the Time Lords were at war for centuries and they are the ones that ended up destroying my entire planet, at least, as far as I know. That's what I understand from the legends. But I'm okay with that now, 'cause theirs got destroyed same as mine. Not sure why, but it's fine by me. I don't really care.

Sorry, I'll stop rambling now. I strolled down the street, a cool breeze blowing my brown hair.I ran a hand through it to try to calm it down and stay in place. I try to stay as inconspicuous as possible when traveling, so I tried to dress according to the fashion of the day. I was dressed in loose-fitting jeans and a brown leather jacket. I wasn't trying to look like a punk or anything, but I just needed to fit in, and those were the only clothes I didn't feel utterly stupid in. Now, where did I leave the TARDIS? It can be so frustrating sometimes. They have this thing called a perception filter on them that makes them less noticeable, and I tend to forget where I put it. But they also have a chameleon circuit, which changes the outer appearance to fit in with wherever it landed. This time, it looked like a 1950s blue police box. So I decided to go around looking in every single police box I found until I found the right one. I must have looked pretty silly, walking down the pavement, checking out every police box, sticking my head into every one I came across. I must have checked at least ten or twelve of them. I was done. Every one I came to, I made a silent prayer. "Please be the TARDIS," I whispered to myself. I opened the door, which groaned and protested as I pushed it in. I was engulfed in a warm light. It was the TARDIS, but something was off. It looked, I don't know, different. The whole theme had changed.

"Hey!" someone called. I couldn't see them, but there was definitely someone else in the TARDIS with me. "Who's there? Doctor is that you?" A girl walked out from behind the console. She had blonde hair that tumbled down gracefully over her shoulders. She wasn't very tall, maybe about 5'5"ish? She had a London accent. She was wearing a bright pink skirt and a denim jacket. Her hazel brown eyes, stared back at me. She obviously had no idea who I was.
