chapter 9

{Mariah POV }

"mariah get up time for school." Scott said as he threw my school bag at me.

"Scott...wait." I'm going to tell him that I know he's a werewolf....

"what" he said turning around.

"can we get something to eat before school.?" I chickened out. why can't I just tell him .. it not going to be a big deal..if he knows that I know.

stiles was waiting for us in his jeep and the thought of confronting Scott never left my mind..the thought of me chickening out made me sick to my stomach.

"mariah.?!?!?" Scott said opening the car door. "we're here."

"huh.?"

"didn't you say you wanted something to eat.?"

we in the parking lot of Denny's.

"ohh...yeah.." I had been having daydreams and nightmares recently , ever since I came to beacon hills..

as we ordered our food I decided to wash my hands before we ate..

The bathroom was silent ..no one was in here. but I felt as if someone was watching me. I began washing my hands as fast as I could to get out of there

"did you tell Scott I wanted to talk.?" a familiar voice said from behind me .

I looked up and to my surprise. It was Derek .

"no.." I said in a small voice. I put my head down so I didn't have to look at him.

"why..? afraid hell get hurt." I could hear his footsteps getting louder and louder ..

"afraid I'll kill him.?" his footsteps stopped and I felt his hot breath on my neck.

"afraid I'll kill .. you.." that sent shivers up my spine I can't imagine life with out being on earth.

"leave me alone.. Derek .. please."

I bolted for the door , I felt my hair pulled and a hand over my mouth. He pulled out his claws. and put them to my throat.

"if you scream .. I'll end you with a swipe of my hand.."

I dared not to scream. I didn't want Scott being killed trying to save me.. I'll put everyone here in danger.

I began to cry because I thought my life was over.

"your a special girl Mariah... and you don't even know it yet."

tears came down my cheeks and I was petrified ... his claws got closer to my throat .

Scott came running threw the door with stiles not so far behind him.

"Derek leave her alone.!!" Scott's eyes turned to a golden yellow and he grew claws. his face was hairy and his ears sharpened to a point.

he charged at Derek . Derek let go of me and I fell to the floor. this can't be happening .

I got up and I ran to scott and hugged him tightly.

"no .. please..Scott " I whispered in his ear.

I felt Scott's hands wrap around me .

"I'm sorry " he whispered back in my ear. "I'm so...sorry."

I turned to stiles and I hugged him too.

I turned to face Derek and Scott.. they were human again

"its taking all I got to kill you right here.." Scott said balling up his fist . I placed my hand on his arm.

"we have to talk .." Derek said

"no.."

"its important. if you want to keep your loved ones safe. come by my loft later school today to talk. come alone."

"no .. I'm going with you." I looked at him with wide eyes

"its to dangerous."

"I just seen you turn into a werewolf ... I'm going with you." he gave in .

"I'm going to." stiles said . I looked at him and similed

***hours later***

school went by pretty slow.. but now its time to go to Derek's loft. Scott asked that Allison came and Chris did to. they waited outside with stiles in the jeep.

"you ready .?" Scott asked as we got out of stiles car. as we walked in the place was vacant , except for a couch. it had a beautiful view of beacon hills. but I still had an eerie feeling.

"you came." I turned to see Derek standing in the doorway.

"like we said we would... so what do you have to talk to us about.?" stiles said.

"its about me."

"what about you.?"

"there are a pack of alphas... and they are out to get me to join there pack ."

"I thought there could be only one alpha..?" Scott and stiles said In unison.

"how do you know they are coming." stiles asked

"they left me a sign that they will be here soon."

"or they're already here" I said.

all three of them looked at me with their eyes widened.
