His alarm blared loudly. It was a Monday. Of course it was. It just had to be the beginning of the week. Why couldn't it just be Saturday forever? This was one of the many burning questions that ran through Damien's mind every day. The sixteen year old rolled over, slammed his hand on his alarm clock to hit snooze, then he reluctantly sat up. He wiped the sleep from his eyes with the heel of his hand. He reached over and picked up his glasses. He put his black, thick framed glasses on and he stood up.

Damien looked down, only wearing a red pair of boxers, to notice that he had fallen asleep before cleaning himself up the night before. He hurried into the bathroom down the hallway. He flicked the light on and closed and locked the door. Damien looked down once more. The dark dried blood on his thighs darkened the areas that his boxers touched. He realized with a huff that he had forgotten to grab a change of clothes. Damien bit his lip as he began to pull his boxers down, trying not to rip up the dried blood.

He didn't understand why he continuously cut. Well, he knew why he did it. Who wouldn't try to erase their pain after being tortured by all of his classmates for years on end? He longed for high school to be over. For him to finally be eighteen so that he could tell everyone to go fuck themselves and leave him alone. So he could travel and finally find out what it's like to be happy. To feel the sun on his face and toes in the sand as the ocean beckons him into it.

Damien was snapped from his thoughts when he heard his mother knocking on the bathroom door. "Dami-baby, breakfast is almost ready. Take your shower and get ready for school. I've already packed your lunch," Her calming voice spoke before leaving. Damien waited until he had heard her footsteps going down the stairs before he sighed and took his shower.

While he walked down the hallway back to his room so that he could change, Damien's little sister walked up to him. "Dami!!!" Ginny squealed, smiling, "You're up, you're up, you're up!! How is you feeling?" Damien patted his six year old sisters' head before he replied, "Yeah, I'm up. I'm fine. Shouldn't you be getting dressed for school?" Ginny shook her head, "Nah-ah. Daddy said that mommy and me are going to have a mommy daughter day."

Damien nodded his head, his lips pursed in thought. Finally he smiled slightly, "That's cool, Gin. I have to get dressed now, but I'll be downstairs in less than five minutes. I promise." Ginny nodded her little curly, blonde head before she practically bounced down the stairs. Damien sighed softly and he locked himself back in his room. His thighs had began to burn from where his gashes were. He went to his bed and he picked up the pocket knife that he had forgotten to close and put away the night before.

Damien opened the bottom drawer of his dresser. He opened the secret compartment that he had built into it and he put his knife away. He closed that drawer and he opened both his middle and top drawers. He pulled out black boxers, dark blue jeans, and a plain black tee shirt. He got dressed and he pulled out a pair of socks. He sat down on his bed and he put his socks and red converse on. Damien fixed his glasses before he went to retrieve his hairbrush. He brushed his hair into it's normal style then he grabbed his black messenger bag.

He made his way downstairs and into the kitchen. His mother had finished making pancakes, bacon, toast, sausage, and fruit salad and everyone was already sitting at the table. They had already began eating, so Damien just took his spot next to Ginny. Damien's mother had already made his plate of food for him. He poured himself a glass of apple juice, deciding that he would stop by and pick up coffee on his way to school. Damien ate in silence until his father spoke up to him for the first time that morning.

"Hey sport, how are your classes going? Have you decided if you want to join football when the team starts back up next week?" He said, looking over at his son from over his own pair of glasses. Damien snorted and sipped his juice, "Nah. You know that I hate sports dad. But um...Classes are fine. It's the jerks in my classes that I have issues with." Ginny sat up at the mention of his class bullies. "Lemme at them!! Those big meanies need to stop hurting my big brother. I will make them sad that they ever hurted you." She said, puffing her cheeks out a little. Her dark green eyes seemed to shine at the thought of protecting her brother.

Damien patted her hair, "Don't worry about it, Gin. Your big brother can handle it. You don't have to hurt anyone." Ginny 'hmphed' before going back to her juice. Everytime that Damien saw how protective his little sister got for him he used to swell with pride, but now it's just gotten old. He knows that she cares, but what is a small six year old going to do that could possibly stop the torment that was his high school?

He finished his food quickly and he stood up, grabbing his backpack from its place on the floor. "Thanks for breakfast, mom. See you guys after school." "Well, actually, your dad won't be home until late and Ginny and I are going to be out all day. We'll be back late. I know that you have your key to the house. There are leftovers in the fridge and freezer." Damien bit the inside of his cheek, "Oh. Alright. Have fun." With that, Damien left the house and got into his Chevy pickup.

He drove his way to Starbucks and ordered his favorite coffee. Damien paid and drove off. He was almost tempted just to ditch classes today. He remembered that Samuel would still be there and he wasn't about to ditch class without his best (well, only) friend. He pulled into the parking lot of what he considered Hell. This particular Hell's name was called Northwest High school. He parked in sophomore parking and he got out of his car. Damien grabbed his coffee, knowing that he didn't need his bag because he was coming back to the car soon anyway.

Damien pulled out his phone and he texted Samuel. Almost immediately he got a reply saying that Samuel was on his way and to wait for him in the car. Damien climbed back into his truck and he sat his coffee down. He pulled out a cigarette and he put it to his lips as he lit it. Damien inhaled and about three minutes later Samuel sat in the passenger's seat, smoking his own cigarette. "So, what's up Damien?" Samuel said looking over at his friend. Damien exhaled slowly before replying, "High school fucking sucks. Wanna go hang out? No one's gonna be at home today so we can go where ever and not get in trouble."

Samuel's short blond hair was disheveled from obvious lack of brushing. His blue eyes roamed over the space of the car. He was always jealous that Damien had already gotten a car even though Samuel was older. True Samuel was only older by six months, but he still was already seventeen. Damien wouldn't be seventeen for another few months. Still, when Sam had heard the words "Wanna go hang out" he found himself grinning like an idiot. "Hell yeah! Lets go before they realize that not only are we ditching, but we're also smoking on school property."

Damien rolled his eyes as he began to pull out of the parking lot, "Like I give a fuck. This place could burn to the ground and I wouldn't give a shit. What should we do?" Sam hummed for a moment before speaking, "Apparently you can pay like five bucks a person at Jenson's for unlimited games, but it's only from like 8:30 until 3:00." Damien glanced over, "Did you memorize their schedule for this exact moment or something?" Samuel laughed, "No! I just love that place."

Honestly, both Damien and Samuel loved Jenson's The owner's knew them personally and they let them hang out whenever they wanted. They often got free food and drinks. The owners were always there and Damien and Sam often helped out around the place. Damien believed that hanging out at the arcade was a much better option than dealing with assholes for at least seven hours.

Within thirty minutes, they were in the parking lot. Damien sipping his coffee and Samuel smoking another cigarette as they waited for the arcade to open. Little did they know that there was someone else also waiting for the arcade to open.
