Shawn:

"Aaliyah. Shawn we're home!" I heard my mom yell from downstairs.

Instantly my face lit up and I grabbed Maya's hand running downstairs. "Mom. Dad." I exclaimed and hugged them. "Oh we missed you darling." My mom said placing kisses all over my face and I groaned.

Aaliyah greeted them and they talked. I then noticed Maya wasn't next to me.

I ran back upstairs to see her pacing around in my room.

"Maya?" I questioned and closed the door. "I'm sorry. But I can't do this." She said and I walked up to her. "Breath." I said softly and she started taking deep breaths in and out. "Look at me Maya." I said and her eyes met mine and I smiled.

"You're amazing. They'll love you and I love you. That's all that matters. Okay?" I said and she nodded. "Kiss for good luck?" She asked and I laughed leaning closer.

I kissed her, and it was amazing. "Okay." She said taking in a deep breath and taking my hand.

I walked out my door downstairs seeing my mom and dad looking up at us and Aaliyah smiling. "Mom. Dad. This is Maya. My girlfriend." I said and my mom smiled immediately.

"Oh welcome to the family!" She said pulling Maya into a hug. "Hello mrs. Mendes." Maya said and my dad stepped forward. I saw him inspecting her, and then he smiled.

He likes her.

I can see it.

"I'm Manny and this is Karen." He said shaking Maya's hand. "It's nice to meet you. I hope you don't mind me staying here for a while." She said and my mom and dad shook their heads. "Not at all." She said and called me aside.

"Ooh I like her Shawn." My mom said and I smiled. "I knew you would. What's for dinner?" I asked feeling my tummy grumbling. "Oh about that. We're going out with the Arendse's." My mom said and my smile faded.

"O-okay." Was all I managed to say and walked back to Maya. She and my dad were having their own conversation and I stole her away.

We got upstairs and I told het the plans for tonight.

We got ready and went downstairs for dinner.
