Everything (Luke Hemmings)

Chapter 1

~ Mel's POV ~

Everyone strives to be a normal high school student. I've been everything but normal. I've grown up in Sydney, Sydney Australia to be exact. For most people when you think of Sydney you think of a town in Australia. Then others think of where 5 Seconds of Summer is from. 2011, the fan base hasn't really grown much. I've known the boys since I were in diapers. So many girls have told me how lucky I were, and they wish they was me. I didn't really realize how luck I am I guess. Me and Luke are 14, Cal is 13, Ash is 15, and Mikey is 14. My name is Melanie. My friends called me Mel. This is my story.

It was a normal day. I got up and grabbed my phone. After blinking a few times I turned my brightness back up after scrolling on tumblr last night. A text came across that caught my attention. I had Luke saved in my phone as 'Fluffy Penguin' and that's who I had a text from. Always him or Ash would come over every day. It was summer so I didn't have school. Apparently Luke decided its his turn to come over. I stretched made my bed and got a change of clothes. I brushed my teeth and headed down the stairs while in the process of throwing my hair into a messy bun. The stairs ended at the main door where there was a knock. "1 second!" I said and opened the door to be met with a pair of blue eyes. "Hello!" I smiled and began to walk to my kitchen leaving him to close the door behind him.

I grabbed a banana to hold my appetite while I made myself some breakfast. "Would you like some?" I ask him. "Sure" He responds taking a seat at the small kitchen table. We had a dinning room table as well but it was easier to talk and hang out if he sat in the kitchen. "So what brings you hear so early? I never heard of you waking up before noon Hemmo" I joked. He smiled at me. "I decided to make a effort today." He smelled like cologne for once in his life "Everything okay?" I ask sitting across from him. "Why wouldn't it be?" he yawned with a very confused face. "You smell really good and woke up early. What's the catch?" He looked at me.

"No catch, just came to hang out and I'm not especially feeling the greatest so I decided to cover up that smell if you must know" he seemed embarrassed so I felt bad for asking. "Oh! the pancakes and bacons done!" I popped up throwing it onto two separate plates. "Where's your mum? Still asleep I assume?" he asked. I nodded. My mum was one of the people that never woke up till late afternoon in the summer. I would've still been asleep if I wouldn't have woke up to my phone playing music out of no where. "What has you up so early?" he asked me.

I looked up "Oh, you know. Just my Pandora started playing for no reason." I crinkle my nose and look back down at my plate. "That's rubbish" he says and takes a bite of his bacon. My mum comes walking around the corner "Oh hello Luke! Your up surprisingly early for your usual!" She smiles. He gives her a fake glare in return. "I wasn't feeling well and Mel makes it better." I raised a eyebrow. What did he mean by that? "Uhh I mean to the whole band. Ya know. We all love our little girl of the band" He was panicking. He did not just call me a little girl. That's not usual. I hear another knock at the door. "That must be Ashton." I say and walk to get the door. Opening it I say "Hey can you please talk to Luke without me around? He's acting weird. " Ash knows I've had a crush on him since 2nd grade. So whenever Luke acts weird I start jumping to conclusions. "Sure" he says with a big grin. He walks in my kitchen while I run upstairs to grab something.

~ Ashton's POV ~

I walked in the kitchen "Your gonna have to tell her one of these days mate." I sit down and steal a piece of bacon off his plate. "I know, I just don't know how" Luke sighed. "I shouldn't tell you this but I am. She's liked you since the 2nd grade. You have a chance." I looked him dead in the eye because that's how he can tell I'm not lying. I always look someone in the eye when I'm dead serious. His eyes brightened. "You know, she has you as her lock screen" her mum chimed in. a small smile appeared to his face. "Really?" he asked us. "Really." I reassured him.

Mel walked in seeing there was no seats left and walked away. Probably to get a chair from the dinning room I'd assume. "See the way she looks at you? Plus the fact she's told me. I have no doubt in my mind Hemmo" I looked at the fridge coming to the conclusion I'm going to get a Pepsi. I stand up and walk over to the fridge getting a Pepsi then sitting back down. I see Mel walk back to us with a chair in hand. "You know I'm sure you could've sat with Luke" I wink at him and whisper "Your welcome" I receive a death glare from the both of them and she sits down in her chair. "I do think he would have minded. Doesn't he like that Chelsea chick?" she says her eyes saddening.

"Nope" Luke chimes in. "You've met her actually" He says. He isn't lying. "Who is she??" she asked. "Eh, you wouldn't want to know. She's your favorite person in the world. Or I'd hope." He smiles. "Last I knew I favorite my self Mr. Penguin." She smiled. "Yeah exactly" He says standing up and rinsing his plate. I was waiting for two and two to click in her head. I could see she was confused. "Need a little help?" I ask her. She shakes her head no. "I wanna figure this out on my own" she said and looked down at her plate.

~ Melanies POV ~

My eyes widened. I figured out what he meant. I was in the middle of chewing my bacon and I started coughing realizing what he meant bacon flying out of my mouth. "Arms up!" my mum said and lifted my arms with one hand and patted my back with the other. "You don't mean.." I say in-between coughs. Ash smiles at me "He did." I blinked a few times and got up taking my plate to the sink then jumping into his arms. "Me too" I announced. His grip tightened around me.

"How cute!" Ash semi screamed. "You two are adorable" my mum chimes. "Wanna go see a movie later?" Luke asked me. I nodded happily. Still hugging him I messed up his hair and let go walking towards Ash. "How long have you known?" I ask. "Since birth" he laughs. I shake my head. "I'm going to go grab a shower. I was hungry and put it off. You two gonna be okay while I do that?" I ask. They both nod and I walk off. I grab a towel and a hair towel and jump in the shower.

~ Luke's POV ~

"I can't believe after 14 years she's finally mine" I say washing the dishes. I didn't want her mum to have to do them. " It's about time" Ashton and Barbra said at the same time.  I chuckled and finished drying our plates. "You didn't want anything Barbra did you?" I look at her with concern. She was basically like a in law to me already. "Nah" she waved her hand and went back to scrolling on her phone. For being a mum she was really cool. I can't count how many times I've stayed over. I put the plates in the cabinet and sit back down. "Hey is it okay if we take Mel to the mall?" I ask her mum. "Of course. Just be home by 10." She says and I hear a pop like she liked a post on Facebook. "Easily done. If were home by like 9:30 I'm just staying over" I didn't even have to ask anymore. I just said I was. She nodded.

I know she wasn't completely pleased with me right now though. She watched me grow up and I always said I would get a lip piercing and I got one a few days ago. She wasn't very pleased with me. I was gonna give Mel my phone so she can hear the bands new single while we was at the mall. It's about her. I think it'd be really sweet. I smell body wash and then Mel appears in the door way with soaking wet hair. She had on a 5sos t-shirt I made and gave her a pair of black jeans and converse. I swear she could pull off anything.

"Earth to Luke!" she yelled. She caught me staring. "Oh uh hi" I said and chuckled. "Take a picture it'll last longer" She said and poked my arm. I smile at her and grab out my phone. "I wasn't being literal! I hate pictures!" She screeches. I don't know why she hates pictures. She's beautiful. "Fine" I pout and look down at my phone. "We should probably get going" I say looking at the time "I plan on spending the day together" I add. She nods and throws the towel she had on her hair and threw it at Aston it landed on his head. she grabbed a brush and brushed it through. We walked out the door and I reached for her hand. She smiled and we walked hand in hand to the mall.  "Oh my gosh...." she says and stops in her tracks. "Its him" she says.
