After winning, Massey is escorted to an office, where a bunch of white people wearing business suits had been. There were also numerous school staff members present, one of which tells Massey to wait a moment while someone went to gather her prize money.

Half an hour later, a pretty, blond lady shows up with a bag of money and hands it to Massey.

In a cheerful, valleygirl-sounding accent, the woman said, "Here are your 250,000 dollars. Congratulations and good luck on all of your financial ventures!"

Massey barely had time to thank the woman before the game host appeared beside her, slinging an arm around her shoulder and a group of photographers suddenly took a picture of them, with Massey holding the bag of cash in hand and smiling all awkwardly.

After that, Massey started to leave the room, but some of those business people in suits approached the young woman and started asking her questions about what she was going to do with the money. One particular man even gave her some advice on what she should do with the cash.

"You should take the money to the bank immediately," he said," but make sure that the bank can insure up to 500,000 dollars just in case... "

Massey nodded, and finally, when she saw the chance to leave the room, she quickly left through an alternate door, which led into a narrow hall, where there was a flight of coiling stairs leading downward. As she made for an exit, Massey saw a few fellow black students feasting their eyes on her as if they were predators and she was their prey.

All Massey wanted to do was leave the building in one piece and get to the bank. Just as the young woman made her way down to the next landing, she saw that group of thuggish looking black guys coming in her direction. In response, she went back up the stairs from where she came and entered into the hallway, again. There she spotted James, one of the former contestants heading towards her. She had very little time to think of what he would do so she quickly gazed into his eyes so as to ascertain his intentions while holding the bag of money in her hand.

James had no bad emotions, but he was definitely scared. He gripped her by the arm and moved to the closest exit.

However, they still had some ground to cover before making it to their next exit. Not only that, but a group of baggy clad thugs was approaching fast behind them with knives in their hands and hoods covering their dark faces. With James now leading her, Massey started becoming concerned that he might be intentionally leading her into some kind of ambush.

But despite this, she allowed him to lead on. Eventually, they came to another exit point which would bring them to the first floor, but when they reached the landing,  a grown medium-built, white man with blue eyes and a blushing red face intercepted them. He appeared to be dressed like a security guard, wearing a jacket with black pants. And yet he had no firearm.

"Hey you," he said, "You must be the winner. Follow me, I'll get you outta here!"

The man then took out a can off mace spray and darted down the stairs. Again, Massey glanced at James in question and waited for him to lead them. Then suddenly from behind the couple, the thugs called out, "Eh girl, don't listen to them, they gon try and rob yo ass! We gotcho back!"
