CHAPTER 34--Uzumaki Naruto

The whole plot of the lord and his underlings was obvious now. We'd just have to put everyone that started this fool's errand down.

But first we'd have to get that diamond back.

"I don't really know what's going on, but that was a DIRTY TRICK  guys!" Toshiro said, dramatically wiping his eyes on the ground, like a child.

"Get up!" I whispered harshly, turning back to our adversaries.

"Uwah! They ain't playin' fair, man! They ain't playin' fair!" Toshiro cried behind me. I ignored him and turned back to the group infront of us.

"So you would be the third party vying for the crystal?" I folded my arms over my chest and surveyed the large group. There were about forty members in all, not including the three leaders. We knew one, the little rapscallion that had done the deed, but the other two were not of our acquaintance yet.

The man that had been talking seemed like a leader of sorts. He was tall and lean and dressed in the same patchy clothes the boy was. He had wild red hair and a bandage covering his eyes. A blind fighter; I'd need to be aware of his possibly increased senses.

The last was a woman, or maybe a man. She was larger than any man I knew and had the physiology of a male, but s/he was wearing a patch work dress. I'd have to file away his/er strength.

I chuckled. "Not very special. Your backstory probably isn't even something to sniffle at." I got into my fighting stance and launched forward. "Now then, have at you!"

Toshiro chuckled but at least was right behind me as we attacked the large group behind the leaders. But they didn't seem to fight that way. The leaders immediately came at us, working in sync. Throwing a hit at the woman, but being countered by the superior senses of the blind man, I said, "You fight like more of a team than I suspected, seeing as you sent a hitman after your own."

"We'd never do something like that, we value every member!" said the large wo/man in a bass filled unisex voice, smashing the ground and sending a shockwave through.

"Interesting," I said. I flipped onto the large power box on the wall. It was unused, but probably still active, since the lights were on in the darker parts of the building below. "Have you ever considered that one of you may not think that way...?" I taunted. The woman smashed at me again, obviously not trying to hide her rage. The blind man noticed and yelled for her/im to stop, but they couldn't stop the raging beast. S/he smashed into the pillar, allowing me to grab the freed and broken cables and run them into her/im.

S/he didn't even have time to scream, as at least a thousand volts were traveling through her. In seconds, she fell to the ground, most likely dead.

"You bastard!" screamed the blind man. With his crew and a yell, he charged forward.

"Don't move!" said another person. They stopped again. It was the original thief. With our diamond. He looked extremely desperate and on the verge of tears, but he still had something up his sleeve. "I said, don't move! This diamond has the power to bring you to your end!"

With a smug smile, I held my hands up in surrender. Toshiro lowered his fist on the guy that he was beating up. "Ehh?!" he said obnoxiously.

"Don't you feel different?" the thief continued. "Totally different from who you were? I can control that." With a flick of his wrist, the diamond flashed red. Stifling pain bursted from my stomach, bringing me to my knees. "Or at least speed up your eminent deaths. If you don't get this back before the end of tonight, you'll die!" he spat. "And I'm not gonna let you bastards get it."
