••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••"It better not rain today!!" Kassie groaned.
"It's not supposed to." I sigh, already tired of her complaining.
"But it poured yesterday."
"Yes and the forecast is nice for today."
"No it's not!"
I roll my eyes and quickly make my exit out of the bus before I snap at her. If she would just pull up google and check the fucking weather, she'd see it's not supposed to rain.
She's right about yesterday, it did indeed pour all day. It was our "rehearsal day" before tour actually begins and everything and everyone got soaked. Since I'm from Seattle, it didn't bother me one bit. I feel sorry for people who live in constant heat and sunshine.
Today is my first day ever on warped and I won't let my already annoying "tour partner" ruin the day.
Alternative Press posted something on Facebook months ago about wanting volunteers for warped and you bet your ass I signed up right away. I don't know why they didn't just have there employees do it. They probably just didn't want to pay them. But it worked out for me because I got chosen out of thousands of people! Well, me and Kassie.
Thank god it wouldn't be just me and Kassie on the bus. We were sharing a bus with some band named I See Stars. I've definitely heard of them but I've never listened to their stuff. The dick head vocalists didn't even show up with the rest of his band yesterday which pissed the band off. He's lucky everyone else was too busy to notice. Warped opens its gates in an hour and he's still not here.
I make my way to the Alternative Press tent to get ready for the day. After unboxing all the magazines and decorations for the tent, I notice Kassie still hasn't come to the tent.
Quickly, I rush back to the bus only to find her lazy ass sleeping. I have to shake her to wake her up.
"Kassie! What the hell!" I yell slightly.
"What?? What's going on??!?" She jumps up and hits her head on the bunk above hers.
"Dude they open the gates in 10 minutes, we have to get to the tents." It's almost impossible to not laugh at her pain.
"Oh shit!"
She finally gets her ass up and we rush back to the tent with 6 minutes to spare. Soon, kids start rushing in and heading straight towards the schedules. Our tent is next to the Journeys left and right foot stages, but we have a good view of the front gates at today's venue as well.
"Dude they're also so emo and cringey!" Kassie laughs
She's the one who looks like a fucking rainbow unicorn. But I ignore her, not wanting to start a fight.
"Who's doing meet and greets here today?" I ask her.
"They didn't tell you??" She gasps.
"Obviously not."
"I See Stars and Issues are doing them every day of tour here."
"I love Issues!! Holy shit I can't believe I didn't know they were doing their meet and greet here!"
"I don't know how you didn't know. It's literally on the white board right there. I had to write it since you didn't."
I have to hold myself back from slapping her. She's the one who slept while I set up the entire goddamn tent.
