I was shocked to say the least. My father wasn't supposed to be here. "F-father?!" My eyes widened. Sebastian Morgenstern sat down in the leather love seat that was in my room, crossing his legs. "Your mother was worried. Time goes by fast in Edom. She was having those panic attacks of hers over you. To stop her wailing I promised to check up on you, make sure you were safe. She wanted me to give you this." My father handed me a sliver handled mirror. Seeing my confused expression, my father explained. "If there is an emergency, you can use this to commune with us. Your mother would then create a portal for you to come home. I find it unfair that my sweet sister gets to give you a gift, so I shall give you something as well." My father pressed something small and cold into my palm. I looked down at it. A silver ring lay in my hand, the Morgenstern family crest stamped on it. "It was my father, Valentine's family ring. This has the power to communicate with me telepathically, as my ring is connected to yours. I used my ring once to communicate with my father, now I shall use it to communicate with my son. Don't be hesitant to use your ring, Stellan. I am very... recognizable on Earth. But you are still pure in their eyes. Untouched." My father laughed at that. I smiled, being cautious. Despite my father's unusually happy mood tonight, I didn't want to overstep any boundaries. This could be a test. To test me for weaknesses.
I composed myself. "Of course Father. I will use the ring to communicate regularly. Does Mother know about the ring?" I asked. My father quieted an eyebrow at me. "No. Your Mother is a very powerful being, but she is also quite sensitive to certain things. That is why I brought you to her. She was far worse before you came. She is hypocritical with her parenting. I allowed her to raise you more by herself, as a child always needs a mother to coddle it. I would never deny my child that. Your mother did a good job at coddling you and raising you as you are. But now, that you are growing up, It is my turn." My father told me smoothly.
I blinked. "What are you saying Father?" My father smiled slightly. "I will communicate with you regularly. You are my son and heir, so I shall begin to train you and teach you the ways of our family. Your mother has sheltered you from your destiny for long enough. I am glad you had a long childhood, but it is now time for my son to start to become a man." I nodded, a slight chill running down my spine. "Mother said Earth is a beautiful place." I stated offhandedly. Father narrowed his eyes. "Don't let appearances fool you, Stellan. That is what got your mother into trouble." He warned. I paused. "How did she get into trouble?" My father gave me a Stoney look. "She fell in love." He stated. "With you?" I asked. Father's lips curled bitterly. "No. She was in love with a boy who could never be hers. She ended up sacrificing too much for him. She would still be on her beautiful Earth if she wasn't so reckless. But I'm not complaining. Her recklessness is why she's in Edom with me."
