Chapter Seventeen:

“Kyle…” I whispered into the air. A dramatic silence hung around us before either of us spoke.

“What are we?” Kyle asked in a hushed voice.

“I rightfully don’t know anymore.”

“I…I don’t want this to be an ‘it’s what they say that we are’ type of relationship. Where other people make assumptions about us. I want it to be not just an assumption, but the truth. I want this to be something. Anything! Just with you and only you.” I gasped. Kyle actually cares enough for a relationship with me?

“Yeah, I do. If it’s with you, I’ll always care.” I gasped again; I must’ve said that out loud. I feel embarrassed…

“Oh…I’m going to go lay down…” I started, getting up. Kyle grabbed my wrist. I choked on the air from the electric shock that shot through my arm. I backed up, hitting the wall.

“Farah, I want to have a relationship that is more than a freaking friendship,” he studied my eyes for a second, “I’ve loved you since we were seven, and I didn’t even know what love was then. Since that time you made me burnt pancakes, but I ate every single bite. Do you remember that?”

I nodded, and smiled. “I’ve just…always loved you, Kyle.”

He beamed, and looked at my lips, then back to my face. I knew what he wanted. I grabbed his face, crashing my lips to his. He lifted me up after a couple of seconds of him awkwardly towering over me. I had no choice to wrap my legs around his waist. My arms quickly flew around his neck, and he smashed my back into the wall, losing his balance. We both laughed, and he kept kissing me as he traveled inside toward my bedroom I was staying in. Kyle kicked the suitcase off, placing me on the bed. He pulled away for a second to take off his shirt. His abs was making me have a stroke.

Kyle moved down to my neck, kissing me still. “Kyle, stop.” I moaned. Kyle pulled away for a second. I bit my lip. “You’ve been with so many other girls.” I said that, but tried not to push my luck.

“Just Kristin and Gillian. So, only two. But they aren’t you. You don’t know how long I’ve wanted to kiss your sweet lips.” I blushed, biting my lip again. “Now stop biting your lip. That’s my job.” Kyle made me giggle. He kissed me again, and then pulled away.

“The only reason I was with Kristin and Gillian is because I was jealous of you and Marcus.”

“You don’t think that hurt me that you were with them?” He sighed, lying beside me. I propped my head up onto my hand.

“I’m sorry. You’ve always been special to me, Farah. They haven’t.”

“Then why ‘make love’ to them, if they’re not special to you?” I asked, using my fingers to quote the word.

He laughed, but got serious after seeing my facial expression.

“I don’t know… It just felt right at the moment.”

“Oh, so I’m just going to be another moment for you?” I asked angrily, getting up from the bed. Kyle grabbed my wrists.

“No, Farah. You’ll never be ‘just a moment.’ You’re way more than that.” Kyle studied me for a moment before speaking again. “Every time I wake up to you in the morning, I love it. I’ve never felt that way with Kristin. I tried to figure out what it was, and now I finally know. You’ve always been special, and I love you.” He told me truthfully, pulling me to his chest. Kyle kissed my head, which sent a warm feeling through me.

I fell asleep in his embrace that night.
