9. Graduation Drama

Grell's P.O.V

It was tough but William and I both made it through the night.

It was now lunch time and we were both waiting for the ceremony to start.

"Welcome everyone to the Black Hearts High graduation ceremony 2017!" The headteacher, Mrs. Victoria, announced. She was known as the 'Queen of the school'.
"Today we gather to celebrate the pupils who are leaving to do something greater. Something that could change the world!" She continued talking and I zoned out. I watched as her deputy, Mr Landers (who was more of a butler really), handed out certificates and congratulated students as they came up to the stage.
"William Spears!" The 'Queen' spoke and my boyfriend stood up and walked over to the stage. I grinned and clapped along with everyone else. He started his speech and I payed full attention.

"Recently I have been through a tough time. My family died and I don't think I could have done so well without my friends and loved ones." He looked over to me momentarily and I blushed. We decided to keep us dating a secret, only a certain teacher knew about it and he promised to keep quiet.
"And that's why it's all thanks to you that I made it through these last few weeks. Thank you." He came down off the stage and sat with everyone else.

"Thank you William! Grell Sutcliff!" Mr Landers called and I shivered. I really don't like that guy. I panicked remembering that I forgot to put in my contacts. I quickly grabbed my glasses and hoped they would work. Making my way over to the stage was awkward, but I got there after what felt like forever.

"Thanks. I know that I wouldn't have graduated if it wasn't for my tutor and friend William, or my teachers. Actually that's a lie, I never really pay attention in class." I laughed awkwardly and heard Mr Creavan laugh from somewhere in the hall.
"To be honest I'm gonna miss this school." I stopped before I said anything I regret.
"Thank you." I Awkwardly got off the stage and sat next to my secret boyfriend.
