"Ky-Kyle..." A tear trickled down Agnes's face.

Look what you've done now, the Voice scolded mockingly, just give up, no one can stop me now.

No. I won't stop until I've broken the curse. I'll be the light, and I'll obliterate the shadows, Agnes fiercely yelled in her mind. Adrenaline rushed through her as her heart began to thump. She would get revenge, she can't just let the Voice steal her friend's lives and flee it all like a coward. Rising to her feet, her hazel eyes flecked with abhorrence, she inhaled sharply.

If I lose this...will I ever see Ethan again? She thought, will I ever be able to love anyone anymore? Will I be a failure and disappointment to everyone? She threw those thoughts aside. Whether she lost or not this duel, she must break the curse.

"Bring it," Agnes raised her chin, glowering.

If you must, the Voice sighed.

Agnes crinkled her brows, beginning to shift. The Sea Serpent and Basilisk had both failed to defeat the Voice...which meant the Pegasus was her only choice. Sweat tickled down her face as her hair turned pearly white. Her back ached as wings pierced them, and a gauziness drifted over her vision.

Once her vision cleared, she was in Pegasus form. With only...only five minutes to spare since Warping didn't need the curse for it to happen.

Snorting and stamping her hooves, she called out an inner calmness within her and tried to wrap it around the Voice. The Voice wove a barrier of thick darkness, shielding itself from the blow. Pegasus could not only share emotions, but also had ties to the forces of the sky.

Focusing on calling a string of luminosity from within the heavens, Agnes landed a deadly lightning strike towards the Voice. Haplessly, it missed as the Voice cackled and scooted aside. Vexed, Agnes summoned a deafening clap of thunder, which kept her ears ringing afterwards. Nonetheless, the Voice was merely wincing at the sound, but not at all hurt.

Now it was the Voices's turn to attack. With a glint of menace within it's eyes, it showered darkness over Agnes.

The dust blinded Agnes, tingeing her glossy coat grey. Undeterred, she forced a few more resonating booms from the sky, which clouds had scudded over, shunting the sun.

The Voice guffawed raucously. You cannot defeat me! Give up...or die.

I'll never give up, Agnes cried defiantly, not until you're ashes.

Fine then, the Voice scoffed haughtily, then it's your own path you choose.

The Voice reared up, chanting under its breath. Its murky shape was now swirled with violets and dappled with blues. Agnes watched in wonder, until suddenly an excruciating pain clutched her head. Black spots marbled her sight, and the world rippled in and out.

Agnes screeched in vain, the darkness girding her pressing in closer. She felt lightheaded as stars swam in her vision.

Don't pass out. Don't pass out. What will they all think of me? I can't let them down. It's the Voice. It's all the Voices's fault! So many have fallen to its dirty tricks. So many have possibly died under its hands. So many had lost their destiny.

I have to end this.

Opening her eyes, she saw the Voice staggering as her whirlwind of emotions struck it down. That's when Agnes realized she hadn't been keeping track of time. How long had it been already? Regardless of this, she summoned her inner strength, digging deep into the mass of clouds. A flash of bedazzling lightning, charged with her hate and fury, her pain and sorrow, plummeted from the sky.

Landing right on top of a figure of pure black.

The Voice crumpled to the ground, writhing in agony. Agnes stared coldly at it, deciding to finish it for good. She stalked towards it, then slammed her hoof down right onto its heart. It retched, thought no blood came out. Agnes drove her hoof in deeper, until the Voice began to shrivel up.

"This is what you get for what you did. You deserve nothing less," Agnes spat. The Voice gasped, then lay back, its body shivering violently. Its darkness drained away, curdling as if a flower wilting. It's breathing halted, as did its movements. Then it dropped into sleep.

Never to wake up again.

Agnes stepped back with a sigh. Rain drizzled down from the sky, and she felt truly at peace.

But in matter of seconds, a new pain struck her mercilessly. Time had slipped by without her knowing, and five minutes...was up.

Her wings felt more real somehow, and the instinct of flight bloomed within her. Her memories blurred, and she forgot where she was, who she was. Gazing around, she sighted a snow leopard ...changing into a human? Still, she deemed it was none of her concern.

Then the human started yelling a name. "Agnes!"

That name was familiar, like she'd heard it somewhere. She turned away, preparing to soar into the skies. She paused as sobbing came from the human, who was still calling the name.

Ignore her. Humans and their little problems. She thought. Flapping her wings, she glided into the silvery sky.
