"Gladys prom is coming up how are you feeling?" Ava asks me. I shrug my shoulders and peck my lips.

"All I'm excited for is for the prom queen crown on my head" I grin. Ava does the same and nods her head in agreement.

"Gladys you'll look great! And your speech is going to be great as well" she tells me.

"Of course it is" I tell her rudely as the bell rang to head to second period.

I tell Ava goodbye and walk towards my next class. Everyone telling me hi as I walk pass them and I returned a smile and continued to walk.

I go inside my class and sit on my normal seat next to my boyfriend, Michael he smiles at me and I smile back.

"Damn baby you be looking hot today" he says. I smile and wink at him and he gives me a smirk.

Michael is the captain of the football, basketball, and baseball team. I am also a captain as well but in cheerleading, volleyball, and basketball.

The teacher walks in and tells his greetings to the class after he begins his lesson,which nobody cares about because it's less than a month in school and of course everyone is eager for prom.

"I know everyone is eager for prom, but quiet down" The teacher says and he turns back around to face the board and teaching whatever he's teaching.

Michael scoots his chair closer to me and I do the same.

"So prom huh?" He says as he puts his arm around my shoulder. "You're going to be my beautiful date" he says as he winks at me.

"Of course you are, but I'll like you to make it a big deal and ask me with flowers and everything special." I say as I turn to the teacher.

"Flowers and everything?" he questions. I nod my head still facing the teacher. "Well shit Gladys you want everything huh?" he says as he tone changed. I widen my eyes and face him.

"What is that supposed to mean Michael?" I question crossing my arms across my chest.

"I mean like we are already dating everybody knows you are my date why do I got to make it big? I ain't proposing to you to marry me... Damn" he says as he whispers the last part.

"And why are you mad because I want it big? I know you're not proposing to me but-"

"no buts. I don't want to hear it." He says as he unwraps his arms and takes out his phone.

I widen my eyes and I can't believe what just happened. He just got mad really quick and I don't even know what I did.

"Sir, isn't Iron's atomic number 26?" a kid says as he interrupts my thinking. The teacher turns around to face the student then at the board and chuckles.

"Why yes it is! Thank you Grayson for seeing my mistake." He says as he erases 38 and puts a 26.

The teacher continue to what he was doing until the bell rang and everyone ran out the door instead of me and that nerd he mentioned earlier.

"Thank you for staying" he says as he sits down on his chair and looks at his computer.

"I have to" I remark rudely.

"Watch your tone Gladys" he says facing the computer screen. I roll my eyes and put a hand on my hip as I wait for him to talk again. "I asked you two to stay behind because Gladys you're failing and you need help. Grayson I want you to tutor her for the next 2 weeks before the last test of the school year." I laugh and both look at me weirdly.
