day 1- i'm always with you
In the kingdom of Avalor, every day is bustling, busy, and bright. Today was no different. But today, excitement was in the air for a very special reason.
Villagers were lined up down the streets of the city, waiting for the moment to arrive. Some had claimed their seats days in advance, either paying extra money for it, or having a bit of a camp out on the sidewalk. Children waited eagerly with small flags in their grasps, and some even held posters or drawings that they had made themselves. Their parents were quite tired, but they knew that being here was a rare event. But it wasn't only the village that was filled with both chaos and excitement.
Inside the palace, all who worked there were busy preparing the castle for the event. Rulers and dignitaries from all over the world would be visiting Avalor, so the venue had to look its best. Even the members of the Royal Family were involved in getting themselves ready for the day. The Crown Princess' room however, was where the most activity was happening.
"Elena? Are you wearing Mamí's necklace?" her younger sister Isabel called from the hallway. "Uh, the red and gold one?" Elena asked in response. "If so, yes!" "Your Majesty, did you want the scarlet or burgundy ribbon to wrap around the centerpieces?" A servant questioned. "Scarlet. That's the one I wanted, right? Or did I say burgundy? Oh, I don't even know, ask the fashionista over there." Elena answered and motioned to Amber, the sister of Princess Sofia, who freed her from the amulet. Once she heard herself being called, Amber perked up. "Definitely the scarlet. Burgundy would throw everything off!" She responded confidently. "At least someone knows what she wants." Elena murmured to herself. "Oh mija, you're just a bit stressed." Luisa said and began to walk towards her granddaughteri. "I understand. I was like this before my wedding too, you know." She added, putting her hands on Elena's shoulders reassuringly. "I know, but I feel like everything is suddenly being thrown at me. I'm answering all of these last minute questions while I'm having one person doing my make up and someone else doing my hair simultaneously and, I just don't get why I'm like this. I feel like this was perfectly planned, and today should be stress free!" Blanca, Elena's soon to be mother-in-law began to walk to her as well. "Nothing ever goes as perfectly as you've planned it. But I must say, everything has been going smoothly. You have nothing to worry about." "Plus, you've got like, an hour until you have to be ready, I think you'll be fine." Elena's best friend Naomi chimed in. "And, you look amazing. You're practically ready right now!" Sofia complimented. Elena smiled slightly and took a small breath. "Thanks you guys, I think I'm a bit calmer now." Luisa smiled in return. "Now you just sit back and relax. No stressing, okay?" Elena laughed a little and nodded. "No stressing."
A little while later, Elena was finally ready, with time to spare. Isabel walked over to her older sister with her dress in her hand. Elena excitedly took it and went to go put it on. Naomi jokingly went over to both Luisa and Blanca and passed them a small package of tissues. "You're going to need these." She teased and patted, them lightly on the shoulder. A few minutes later, Elena emerged wearing her dress. The whole room gasped with admiration. "Oh mija, you look absolutely stunning." Luisa said whilst holding a tissue to her eye. Elena laughed slightly and smiled. "Abuela, I'm not even fully ready yet! I can only imagine what you'll be like at the ceremony!" Luisa laughed a little at the comment, but her mind was still focused on how beautiful and mature her granddaughter looked. Isabel then handed her their mother's necklace. It was a gold chain, with two small diamonds falling from it. Attached to the small diamonds was a ruby, with a border of diamonds surrounding it. Elena pressed her hand against the gem resting against her chest and closed her eyes. How she wished her parents could be here today. Her thoughts were cut off by Isabel placing her veil on her head, and adding her tiara to keep it in place. Isabel turned to face Elena to make sure everything looked perfect. Thankfully for Elena's sake, it did. Her long, dark brown hair was rolled into a bun, one of her favorite styles next to her usual ponytail. She wore a strapless dress, with red and gold embroidery swirling on the bodice. The bottom of her dress was long and flowing, with a five foot train trailing behind her. Elena walked to a nearby mirror and looked herself over. She put her hand over her mouth and sighed happily. "This is actually happening."
