Kyle

I hurried up the front porch stairs as I rushed into the Pack House. School had ended and I'd just arrived home, hoping to catch my Dad while he was free. I opened the front door and strode into the kitchen, setting my bag on the counter as I grabbed an apple to munch on then went to my Father's study. I knocked on the large oak double doors, taking a bite of apple and tucking my free hand in my front pocket.

"What?" My Father asked in a slightly annoyed tone.

"It's me Dad, can we talk?" I asked, hoping he could. This was too important to wait.

"Enter," he said, his tone instantly relaxing. I pushed the door open then closed it, taking a seat across from my Father on the other side of the desk.

"What is it Son?" My Father asked. I swallowed my bite of apple then set it aside, putting my forearms on my knees as my fingers placed together and I leaned forward.

"I need your help. Something happened at school and I need to know why it's happening," I told him, my tone serious. My father nodded then put his clasped hands on his desk, his eyes serious.

"Alright then, what is it?" He asked. I chewed my lip as I thought of how to explain this.

"I met this girl today... She's like no other. Her scent is so intoxicating and distracting, but I love it. And my wolf's all over her, and so am I. I spent the entire day following her around like a pup and enjoyed every minute. Why is this happening, not that I'm complaining," I told him, not sure what was happening. My Dad was staring at me with a look of surprise, making me a bit nervous.

"Wow... And at such a young age too. Very lucky..." He murmured to himself.

"Hey, uh, Dad? This is a two person conversation, remember?" I asked as I fidgeted in my seat. He look at me again.

"Ah, yes. Well Kyle, this girl... God, how do I explain this? Kyle, you've found your mate," he told me with a happy smile. I felt my heart stop as I stared at him.

"M-my mate?!" I asked as I lept up. I was so excited, my heart was pounding out of my chest.

"Oh my freaking god, I found my mate!" I cried joyously, jumping around. Oh my god, Ashlyn was my mate! That's why my wolf was so persistent on following her about, because she was the other half of my soul. I knew what this meant. That I have to protect her and keep her safe, and to always make her happy. She was my mate and the new Luna.

"Yes, you have. What is her name Son?" My Father asked, excited for me.

"Ashlyn Coleman and she's the most beautiful girl I've ever met. She has gorgeous blue eyes and beautiful flaming orange hair. And she's so feisty, it's adorable, but..." I trained off.

"Wow, you're Star struck kid, huh?" Zishan asked as he strode into the office. I nodded fiercely, but frowned slightly.

"Yeah, but she's really cold towards others, and has made it clear she has no interest in friends," I sighed.

"Then earn her heart, sweep her off her feet. Remember, she's equally drawn to you. No matter how much she denies it and pushes you away, her soul can't ignore you're its other half. Don't worry, she'll come around," Zishan encouraged, my Father nodding in agreement. I smiled and thanked them before jumping up and running to my room, grabbing my bag as I passed through the kitchen.

"Azar!" I yelled into the phone when they picked up and I'd closed my bedroom door.

"Yes Kyle?" They asked distractedly. I groaned and fell backwards onto my bed.

"Ok, whatever you're doing at this very moment, set it aside. It can wait because I have something very important to tell you!" I insisted. I heard some shuffling on the other end before they responded.

"Alright Kyle, you have my full and undivided attention. What is it?" They asked in all seriousness. I grinned.

"Ok, remember how I told you about the scent and when I was being all protective of Ashlyn?!" I asked with barely contained excitement.

"Yes, I remember. I was worried you were going to kill Dante," they chuckled.

"Well I figured it out! Ashlyn is my mate!" I yelled excitedly. Azar whistled.

"Wow, so it was her scent You were smelling?" They asked in astonishment. I'd explained pretty much everything werewolf to Azar, including mates.

"Yes! Oh my god, can you believe it?!" I asked happily. Azar chuckled.

"You're really happy. Are you going to tell her? If so, feel free to ask for my assistance," they encouraged.

"No, I'm going to get her to fall in love with me first. I don't want her to feel forced into any sort of relationship, or like it's an obligation," I told them.

"Well, I wish you luck. She's quite stubborn in letting people get close, so you might have difficulty there," they added.

"You forget Azzy, a mate is a soulmate. Her soul is as drawn to me as I am to her, so I'm sure I can get her to fall for all this charm," I snickered. I heard Azar chuckle.

"Yes, I'm sure Wolf Boy. But I'm very happy for you Kyle, I'm glad you've found your soulmate. I remember you telling me it usually takes a very long time for a werewolf to find their mate. Anyways, I must go. If you need to talk or are in need of advice, you know how to get ahold of me. Goodbye Lover Boy," Azar chuckled.

"Bye Azzy, thanks," I said before hanging up. I sighed as my arms dropped onto the bed on either side of my head. I was so happy, I couldn't wait to see her again.

My feisty little mate.
