Mausam POV:

I was sleeping peacefully but the ringing of my cell phone woke me up. I know its must be Shruti, as I forgot to call her on reaching home. Without opening my eyes and not checking the id I received the call.

"Hmm... Hello." I replied groggily. I heard someone inhale a deep breath. My eyes flutter opened. I checked the id at once. Oh shoot! Its Karan calling me.

"Hello! Mausam are you there?" His voice came.

I cleared my throat and replied as sweetly as I can to suppress my groggy voice from sleep.
"Hey."

"You're still sleeping?"

"Yeah... I think its because of the painkillers I took before sleeping."

"Are you okay? How's your leg now?"

"Yes I am okay. And right now am not feeling the pain, thanks to the pain killer."

"Do you need me to come?"

"Umm.. No Karan I really am okay. What about you?"

"Feeling bored. What are you doing tomorrow?"

"Nothing I guess. Why?"

"Amm... Mausam.. I was thinking if you.. I.. Uhh I mean if we can meet tomorrow?" He stammered.
Why was he stammering? Is he hiding something?

"Meet where?"

"Anywhere you are comfortable in. Literally I don't know this place very well."

"Hmm.. Okay. But what will we do?" I was jumping from inside to meet him again. But I can't show him my excitement.

"Ohh.. I wanted to s... study with you as you know semesters are on the way." Study..... Is it all he wants to do?

"Okay. I'll text you."

"Sure. Bye then. Take rest."

"Bye."

I hung up the call. And then
Dialled Shruti's no. She was calm, inspite of me not informing her after reaching home and not receiving her 3 calls. She told me that Karan had told her that am at my home.

We talked a little and told her about my and Karan's study meeting. She congratulated me for God knows what. I was talking to her when the door bell rang.

I peeked from my window and saw its my brother. Hanging her up I went to open the door.

"Hey!" I said smiling.

"Why are you opening the door? Where's everyone?" He has returned from a weeks business trip. So he don't know about our parents whereabouts.

"Ma and papa has gone to uncle Anurag's home yesterday. Its Suhana's engagement." Anurag uncle is my mother's brother and Suhana is his daughter.

"They left you alone! Height of caring." He said closing the door.
I went towards the kitchen to fetch some juice or snacks for him.

Our relation is not so good like every sibling. But i know deep down he cares for me. He just don't show that.

"Here. Have them I'll prepare dinner after a while."

"Don't play the angel here." He snapped at me. "Ma papa is not here to see your facade. Besides am not hungry."

I got hurt. Anyone can see the hurt in my eyes, but the thing is he never looked at my eyes. Every year on Rakhsha Bandhan I expectantly looks at his eyes to find any emotion happiness or hate for me, anything. But still he keeps staring somewhere else.

I slowly then drifted to my room. I decided to take a bath and changed into a barbie T-shirt and cotton pajama pants.

I was applying the pain repellant on my feet when my cell started ringing and Neev's name flashed on the screen.

"Hello."

"Hey beautiful. How are you?"

"Am good. How was the party?"

"Oh it went well. What's auntie cooking tonight?"

"My parent are not at home. Its me and Bhaiya only."

"What! They left you with that excuse of your brother!!"

He and Shruti knows about my brother's behavior towards me. So he don't like him at all. But common he's my brother and I can't just hear rubbish about him.

"Shut up Neev. You're talking about my Bhaiya so choose your words with respect."

"Hmm.. I am sorry. Truly speaking am not sorry at all but if you feel good."

"When are you returning back?"

"I'll be not coming soon. My sister is going to deliver her first child. So she wants me to stay here."

"Oohh.. Its a good news."

"But I'll try to come next week. I miss you...all. I missed the fresher's too."

"There's going to be a party again after two- three weeks. The farewell prom."

"Really.. Okay then. I am coming soon."

"Okay. Talk to you later. Bye."

"Good night."

"Good night."

He hung up the call. I snuggled to my bed. Thinking about our study meeting tomorrow.
