Seamist
Dearest diary,
I'm sitting on my bed looking into the sky. It's cold outside and new people just moved in next door. I watch as they pull in boxes with items inside. It all seems so pointless. Everything. The sky, my room, school. Everything. Then I see a girl. About my age. She walks into the house holding a cat. We would never be friends. I'm obsessed with dogs. I turn away from the window and look at my calendar. Next week I have a choir concert. I'm not even good at singing. I look at the date dating Oct 20th. Yesterday my friend and I took a walk along shore. And she's moving. She will no long be my next door friend that I so longed for wanted. Now I a complete stranger I don't know living next to me. When my friend and I took the walk along the shore, she told me that there was a chest she buried in the sand somewhere along the shore. She gave an bottle with a letter inside. She told me not to open the bottle until she moved. She was very strange and ever since I moved she was the only friend I could make. I was a normal girl, but people were too scared to talk to me because they all heard of my grandmother that jumped into the ocean waters. But I've never even met my grandmother before. And I knew I was nothing like her. People said we looked alike. Same black strait hair, and emerald eyes, with light freckles. She was only 17 when she jumped. I'm 16, turning 17 on November 1st. People are scared I'm going to do the same. But why would I ? I open the bottle, and open the crinkled envelope. Inside was a blank piece of paper. I turn it over and it says "In Blank Wood forest lies a letter, the letter holds another clue, the bottle is buried in the sand pit at the abandoned park in the middle of the forest." I couldn't believe this letter. Why would she think I have that much time on my hands?
To be continued...
