Chapter 4

Dinner, dates & dirty looks.

I walk past Todd, out of the kitchen then into my room. I don't know why it bothers me that Todd has a girlfriend, I couldn't expect him to be single because he's gorgeous. I have only known him for a day and it's like I'm drawn to him, and I don't kn....

My thoughts are cut off by my phone ringing in my pocket, it's Jack.

M: hi Jack
J: hey Madeline, look I'm not trying to sound pushy or creepy but I can't get your cute smile out of my head and I was wondering if you would like to go to dinner with me tonight? You don't have to but I just think you're gorgeous and would love to get to know you

I take a moment to think, Jack is beautiful and going to dinner tonight doesn't sound like a bad thing.

M: I would love to!
J: alright pick you up at 7:30

I hang up the phone and check the time it's 5:00, I got time to figure out what I'm going to wear.

I go to my closet and search through it until I find my favourite leather skin dress, I slipped it on and straighten my hair then I did my make up. I look in the mirror and I couldn't help but feel like I didn't look pretty enough for Jack.

Todd suddenly barges in the door
"Hey wanna help with the end of Scott's vl-" he's speechless when he looks at me "my god Madeline, you look amazing I mean not that you don't always look amazing uhh"

I could tell he was just saying words instead of thinking so I cut him off before he could continue "thank you Todd"

"Anyway like I was saying Scott needs help finishing his vlog, wanna help?" He asks

"Vlogs are those things for YouTube right?" I question because I want to know what I'm getting into

"Yep, me and my group of friends all make them" he responds clearly proud of what he does

"Of course I'll help" I say with a giant smile on my face

We walk out the of the room into the living room where Scott is.

"Just be yourself" Todd whispers in my ear, I guess he could tell I was nervous of messing up

"Wowza! You look nice Madeline" Scott says with a goofy smile on his face then he pulls out his camera
"As you can tell I'm very bad at transitions but this is our new roommate Madeline!"

He points the camera at me and Todd dances around behind me pointing at me.

"Hi" I say with a big smiles and a goofy wave

All of a sudden there's a knock on the door and Todd goes to answer while Scott films him. He opens the door to see Jack.

"Can I help you?" Todd says with a firm voice

"I'm here to pick Madeline up for our date" Jack says looking past Todd and right into my eyes
Todd turns and looks at me too but I'm too busy looking at Jack to notice him, I walk over and take Jack's had when he holds it out.

"See you guys later!" I say as Jack and I exit the house and walk towards his car

I hear the door slam behind us, we reach Jack's car and he opens the passenger door for me and gestures for me to climb in, once we're both in the car he looks over at me with a cute smile on his face

"Wow Madeline, you look so amazing" he says with a wink then we drive off

-skip to after the date because nobody cares-

Jack walks me to the front door and I put my arms around his neck and give him a hug. I pull away and open the front door

"Thank you for the amazing date" I say as I begin to walk in the door but then Jack grabs my arm and pulls me towards him. He grabs my waist and pulls me close to his body, I look up at him with a smile on my face.

"One more thing" he says before leaning in and putting his lips on mine, I run my fingers through the hair on the back of his head while we kiss until we pull away.

"Goodnight Jack" I say walking into the house and closing the door behind me.

I see Scott on the couch watching tv with Kristen, Kristen turns around to face me immediately.

"Ouuu looking cute! Who was the lucky guy that got to show you off" she says with a wink and a laugh

"His names Jack" I laugh and smile at the ground

"How'd you guys meet?" She asks batting her eyelashes at me

"I met him at the grocery store this morning and then he asked me out" I respond trying to stop blushing but I can't

"Ouuu! Madeline and Jack sitting in a tree" Kristen starts singing as I walk away and into my room.

I get into my pyjamas and sit on my bed, I decide to go look up Scott's vlog since I'm in it. I get towards the end when Todd answers the door, when Jack asks for me Todd's smile goes from giant to non existent and as I walk out the door he has jealousy written all over his face before slamming the door and storming off into his room.

Wait a sec... Todd is jealous of Jack.. oh my god!
