Hello reader! This is my first writing here on Wattpad and I'm very excited. Just a quick heads up, this chapter is basically just explaining an average morning of mine, so if you're not into that kind of thing you're welcome to skip ahead. :) It was just kinda fun to replace my friends' names and put what I do in real life into a story sooooo yah. Thanks! - NG
It was just a normal Tuesday in December. I wake up to get ready for school and drag myself out of bed. I grab a random shirt that I would be comfortable in, some leggings that are made for running but are really comfy so whatever, and throw on an over-sized maroon Spitfire hoodie to stay cozy.
Eh I already look shitty, might as well accompany it with some 'effortless' hair and makeup.
I put half of my shoulder-length, dark brown hair in a ponytail, leaving a little bob of hair underneath, and put liquid liner around 3/4 of each eye, wiped it off to leave an 'edgy' smudge, and put on some mascara. I look in the mirror to admire my work.
Well I'm a hot mess, but let's call it a day.
I check my phone to see my Snap streaks sending me blank screens, so I do the same and run downstairs, grabbing my earbuds and overflowing binder on the way.
I check my phone again, it's 7:10 am. That means I have 20 minutes to pack my backpack, pack a lunch, and eat breakfast before Sylvia gets here to walk with me.
"Good morning, sweetie!" Mom says as I walk into the kitchen.
"Morning." I say tiredly giving her a hug.
"Aye!" Max says. That's how he tries to say hi. Max has severe autism, we can't really connect and honestly I think he's a nuisance.
"Do you need help with breakfast today?" Mom asks.
"That would be great, could you make me an egg on toast?" I ask.
"Sure." She replies. I'm so grateful.
I run to the garage and grab a brown paper bag and plastic water bottle to start my lunch. I open the pantry and grab a granola bar and bag of seaweed. I then craft a cheese sandwich and Ziploc it and throw everything into the bag. I shove my binder and lunch into my backpack with five minutes to scarf down my breakfast.
I finally get to sit down in the dining room to eat. I see a text from Sylvia, it's a picture that she took of a morning dove in front of her house. Classic. I finish chugging some water and text her back.
Me: "Wow that's a BiG bOy"
Sylvia: LoL i KnOw RiGhT
We tend to type in alternating uppercase and lowercase when we're talking about something obviously ridiculous. Memes have really affected our lives.
I open the YouTube app to see what my subscriptions are up to before I get another text from Sylvia.
Sylvia: I'MMM HEEERRREEEE
"Shit." I say under my breath.
Me: One sec.
Sylvia: Goddammit Nora you're always late.
I run into the living room, throw on my backpack, plug in my earbuds and toss them over my shoulder because I rarely use them while walking anyway. I slip on some old Adidas, shove my phone in my pocket and sprint back into the kitchen.
"Bye mom!" I say hugging her.
"Bye sweetie, make good choices!" she replies. "Also I'll be working home today, big surprise when you get back."
"Cool, see you!" I say opening the front door, seeing Sylvia waiting on the curb.
"About damn time!" she says laughing.
We walk one block and turn a corner.
"Oh and by the way," Sylvia says. "Anna said she isn't walking today."
"What a traitor." I reply, pretending to spit at the ground.
"Nora you're so rude!" Sylvia laughs.
We eventually get to Lina's house when her dog immediately senses our presence.
"Borf borf, boof." I reply.
"Mmmmmmmm-borf." Sylvia replies.
Lina walks out the side door, headphones in, glued to her phone.
"Liiinnnaaaaaaa, are you watching Pretty Little Liars again?" Sylvia says disapprovingly.
"Maaayyybeee." Lina says slyly.
"OH STEPHEN!!" Sylvia and I say in sync, mocking the characters in the show.
Wow, we're assholes haha.
