Chapter 5: Just brotherly love

So，this is my first request story from heathermk255!

This request is for brotherly love，which I LOVE writing.

(This is a two part story)

The next day, Sonic，Tails and Knuckles walked through the town.

They were relieved that they were able to defeat Eggman even when they were humans. But they knew that he would return. And they would be ready for him.

So far，they have found out that they are unable to return to their original mobien forms. They were stuck as humans...but they didn't mind，cos Team Sonic were together. And they would be there for each other.

Especially after what happens today.

As Sonic，Tails and Knuckles walked through the town, poor Tails was still getting dirty looks from the local people. Because of his new wings.

Tails began to notice this and was upset.

But as usual，Sonic and Knuckles were too busy talking to notice.

But this time was different.

All of a sudden，Sonic and Knuckles saw some smoke in the distance. Thinking it was Eggman，they ran to it...leaving Tails behind.

Tails tried calling out to them but it was no use. They were gone，leaving Tails by himself.

Big mistake.

As Tails sighed，some of the local people came to Tails.

One 30-year-old man came up to Tails and said with a sneer "Just what are YOU supposed to be?"

Tails turned around sharply and said with a tremor "I...I-I'm a human"

The local people scoffed at him.

"Yeah right. Look at those wings, ya freak! What does that tell you?!" yelled a 25-year-old woman.

Tails stayed silent，not knowing what to do.

Then one 15-year-old boy came up to Tails and yanked Tails' wings.
Tails yelped in pain，causing a sickening satisfied grin from the boy.

"Hey everyone! Should we teach this freak of nature a lesson he'll never forget?" said the same 15-year-old boy in a smug voice.

And sadly，the other local people agreed to this.

Suddenly，all the local people that were near Tails jumped him and started attacking Tails.

Poor Tails got kicked and punched multiple times.

"Please stop! Please! Sonic! Knuckles! Help!!" pleaded Tails as he felt constent agonizing pain.

But Sonic and Knuckles didn't save him. Not this time.

Then a 18-year-old girl hit Tails on the back of the head...making Tails fall into a coma. (Author's note: I know that this probably isn't how you fall into a coma but I had to put something!)

The last thing Tails heard was the same 18-year-old girl saying "That should take care of the freak for good."

Sonic slammed the door so hard that it was a wonder how it was still on its hinges.

"Sonic! Calm down，I'm sure he's fine." said Knuckles，while holding his arms up.

"FINE?! We left him on his own! We lost him Knuckles! OF COURSE HE WON'T BE FINE!" yelled Sonic，extremely upset that he forgot and lost Tails.

Knuckles sighed. Sonic is a totally different character when something bad happens to his friends. Especially Tails.

Sonic slumped onto his bed and started crying uncontrollably.

“It’s all my fault! I should’ve p-protected him. I’m supposed to be his big brother...I-I-I just hope he’s alright...” weeped Sonic.

Knuckles nodded his head. “Yeah. Me too.”

Ring. Ring.

The two friends turned towards the phone.

They looked at each other before Knuckles went and answered the phone.

“Hello...Yes..........WHAT?! NO!.....Okay. We'll be there immediately. Thanks. Bye.”

When Knuckles turned around，Sonic was shocked at what he saw: Knuckles was pale (which was noticeable as they were humans now) and he looked like he was about to cry.

“W-what’s wrong?” asked Sonic，who was still crying.

Knuckles gulped as he tried to form his words.

“T-that was the hospital. T-Tails was attacked Sonic...And...and he’s in a coma...T-the doctors don’t know if he will ever wake up...” said Knuckles in a quiet tone，as he was on the verge of tears.

Nothing happened for a few seconds.

Then Sonic started breathing heavily as he started to break down.

“No...no no no....NO! Oh God why?! Why him?! He’s just a kid!” screamed Sonic as he once again started crying uncontrollably.

Sonic crumbled into the floor as he continued wailing.

“TAILS! TA-ILS，I’M S-SO SORRY!...I’M S-S-...S-SORRY.”

Knuckles himself started crying too.

Neither of them wanted this to happen. Tails was the most innocent kid there ever was.

Now heavens began to unleash their own sadness upon the apartment: a scene of a distressed friend and a broken-hearted brother...

I know this chapter is short BUT I am making this a two part story so that I can recollect more ideas.
And，I won’t actually rush my story.
