Hi, so this is my first story so give it a chance!
(Flash forward)
As he turns to meet my gaze a glimmer of hope bubbles through me.
"I love you Elle but, I have to go, you do understand, right" he says
"No" I cry out "I don't understand"
his eyes hold mine until I can no longer look away, the deep green of them pulling me under his spell. He holds his arms out for a final hug but I don't allow myself the small comfort of a last goodbye, if I hug him I know I'll break down, crumble and never get up again. It is already so hard and I refuse to make it any harder.
So instead, I will myself to look down at the ground and walk away. I feel him grab my arm trying to get me to face him again, I know I can't face him, so I shrug him off and continue walking. Now i'm no longer facing him I feel tears stream down my face knowing that will probably be the last time I ever see him, also knowing that I will always love him.
I stumble on the stones under my feet and that is when I hear him say "Elle" his voice raspy. I must not turn around, I tell myself, to stop myself I sprint towards my house sobbing uncontrollably.
