The next day Luna woke up to bright sunlight permeating her curtains. She groaned softly as she stretched, wondering why she was awake this early. She crawled out of bed to turn on some music to help her wake up. She was tempted to turn it up loud, but she knew that she was probably the only one awake currently.
She quickly changed into a pair of shorts and a band tee before flitting around her room organizing more of her stuff. As she hummed along she came across her old photo album. Sitting on her bed, she began to flip through the memories. She laughed as she found the picture of Luke with his face pressed to the glass of the penguin enclosure at the zoo, after he had practically dragged her there.
Turning the page, Luna finds a lot of empty photo spaces. She smiled as she grabbed her camera from its spot on the desk. Sneaking across to Luke's room she lightly pushed the door open. Tip toeing across the hardwood floor, she steadied herself before taking the picture. However, she hadn't planned on the camera flashing.
Luke's eyes popped open and he scrambled backwards, falling off of his bed with a thump. Luna hurried to the otherside of the bed and flashed another photo quickly. Luke looked up at her with a scowl on his face.
"What the hell Luna?" He began making sure all of his limbs still functioned properly as she perched upon his bed.
"I woke up early and was bored. I haven't taken any photos in a while." Luna shrugged as she sat her camera to the side.
"You know, one of these days I'm going to turn the camera back around on you."
"I'd like to see you try Lucifer." She beamed at him as he crawled back onto his bed, laying face down. He was quiet and she thought he had fallen back to sleep. She laid down with him and looked at the posters on his ceiling.
If there was one thing Luke had an abundance of, it was posters. All of his favorite bands made an appearance, some that Luna had yet to even listen to. She sighed softly.
"Are you hungry?" Luke's muffled voice broke the silence before he sat up to look at Luna.
"I'm starving. Cereal?" Luna gave him a look of hope and a smile.
"Cereal."
Luke pulled her up off the bed before they began walking downstairs to the kitchen. Luna was still wide awake and bouncing slightly, but Luke was yawning. The tall boy began pulling everything from the cabinets as Luna rummaged in the fridge and then the pantry, where she spied the cereal on the top shelf.
Shaking her head, she grabbed the step stool from beside the refrigerator. It had become a permanent fixture in the Hemmings kitchen for as long as she could remember. Luke could be heard behind her, laughing as she stepped up.
"Hush, Hemmings."
"How did you end up so short?"
"Let's just stick with crappy genetics." Luna grumbled as she began pouring cereal into their bowls. As Luke poured the milk, she put the box back. This time on a slightly lower shelf. They sat in silence while they ate until,
"Don't forget the guys are coming over today."
"I didn't. I'm excited to hear the cover."
"I just hope it's good enough to upload. We have some pretty high hopes for the band."
"Imagine if you guys got discovered, that would be insane. Insane and amazing." Luke let out a small laugh.
"Yeah, it'd be pretty amazing."
"If you're as good as I know you are going to be I think you guys definitely have a shot."
"Thanks Lu." Luke drained his bowl of milk as Liz walked into the kitchen.
