Chapter 6: Just brotherly love part 2

Sonic and Knuckles sat next to Tails' bed，both of them still crying.

They had arrived at the hospital about two minutes ago.

They both had a good look at Tails.

Poor Tails had multiple bruises and deep cuts all over his skin that were bandaged up as well as a bad bruise and bump on his head of where he got hit by the 18-year-old girl.

They were both still distressed about the whole thing. Tails didn't deserve this bad treatment. He had already been bullied before and now，it has happened again.

And they also felt guilty. Because，they were the ones who left Tails alone in the first place. And were oblivious to the fact that Tails got dirty looks from the people.

They felt that they should've protected Tails better.

"Sonic...I'm sorry. I should've kept an eye on Tails..." said Knuckles in a sad voice.

Sonic shook his head as he said in a distressed tone "It's not your fault Knuckles. A big brother is supposed to take care of his little brother...And I didn't...I just hope he'll be alright."

Knuckles turned to Sonic. "Hey. Sonic，look at me."

Sonic's teary eyes looked up at Knuckles.

"I'm not letting you shoulder all the blame and guilt Sonic. If anything，we are both equally to blame for this. So it's either both our faults or neither of our faults. Got it?" said Knuckles in a suddenly stern voice.

It made Sonic roll his eyes at Knuckles.

And they the two of them laughed. It broke the tension.

However，because they were laughing...they didn't hear Tails' heart monitor go crazy.

But the time they realized this Tails' heart beat was 110.

"KNUCKLES! GET A DOCTOR!!" yelled Sonic as he ran to Tails' bed.

While Knuckles yelled for someone to come and help，Sonic tried to talk to Tails as he was still in a coma， saying "Shh Tails. It's alright. I'm here. Calm down"

But it didn't work. It just made the situation worse.

As doctors and nurses filed into the room， one of the nurses said to Sonic and Knuckles "Sirs， could you please leave the room?"

Sonic shook his head "No. Please，let me stay. He needs me!"

"Sonic. We have to leave. They can get more work done" said Knuckles in a surprisingly calm tone.

But Sonic wouldn't listen.

But as Sonic and the nurse were arguing，then came a horrid sound that would make anyone go insane.

A flat line.

Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep...

Everyone's eyes widened.

"TAILS!" screamed Sonic as the nurse pushed Sonic out of the room.

Sonic continued to scream and tried to get to Tails but Knuckles just pulled Sonic and himself out of the room.
